  1. Hi Adam; E-mail sent on 16th April...no reply as yet. Later; Stu from EGVN.
  2. @guzzler17 Not photoshopped, but I do have 8 bodies. No underhand intentions or lack of integrity here. All I wished to know was if I would be able to swap all 8 bodies. Later, Stu from EGVN.
  3. BUMP And another question... I bought two sets brand new and sent copies of that receipt to Dapol as proof of ownership to enable replacement bodies to be sent. But....in the intervening months i have picked up another two sets second hand, meaning I now have 4 sets...8 bodyshells. Will I be able to get replacements for all 8 if I send proof of ownership...ie a pic showing all 4 sets?? Later; Stu from EGVN
  4. Hi Gang, Whilst it is nice to see, these liveries should have been here years ago and are now nothing but historic. Had the LNW livery been developed alongside, then it would have been easier to give more credit. This is a problem not just for Bachman, but for other manufacturers too in that, by the time a livery has been through R&D, EPS and production, then the real thing has been repainted or retired (with some exceptions). I have my doubts about how strong these will be as sellers. Would love to be proved wrong and see these sell out in order to fund newer items. Later, Stu from EGVN
  5. Hi Gang, I think, from the Accurascale stock list, a Class 37 to a new standard with some of the previously unavailable head code variants would sit well with most modellers. Then the obvious coaching gap is the Mk2c. Wagon-wise, it is a little more difficult but the shortened IIA/HRA hoppers fill an obvious gap. For something not available in anyone’s inventory, a Class 81 and 85, then a Class 303!! Later, Stu from EGVN
  6. Hi Gang, I have absolutely no need for any Class 76 locos. However, if anybody were to announce one, I would probably have at least 3 of them….1 without MU cables and 2 with MU cables. All would be in BR Blue condition, shortly before the end of operations. Rule 1 and other eccentricities would ensure that I would support anyone who ventured this way! But I would, as a priority, rather have either a Class 81, 85 or a Class 303 EMU…pretty please…….. Later, Stu from EGVN.
  7. Been very quiet for a while now….perhaps Adam Warr will know, now that he is in their employ. Hope to hear something soon…waiting on 4 bodies. But I also think the Revolution 320 is a better match for my memory. Later, Stu from EGVN
  8. Hi Gang, Some of the first releases of ‘new-tooled’ models had a selection of two-tone green examples with the 3 radiator arrangement. It would be interesting to see Kirk Bachman did do an XP64 loco, if they would elect for a prototype or a Virgin sponsored repainted version….or even both, despite the body and end detail differences. Later, Stu from EGVN
  9. Hi Gang, I’m pleased to say that my copy of the ScotRail Express book has just been delivered and it is another fantastic production from the SDEG team. I thought that I knew my 47/7s well, but there is an astounding amount of information for each example of the class as well as an in-depth look into the inner workings of the DBSO. The book is to a very high standard overall, and I’m looking forward to delving further into its pages. Thoroughly recommended….well done to all involved in its production. Later, Stu from EGVN.
  10. Hi Gang, +1 for both the 88 and the MRAs. Later, Stu from EGVN
  11. Hi Gang, 4 out of my 8 have broken couplings due to either poor packing or shifting in transit. Had a look at supergluing the coupler back together, but the plastic does not seem to like cyano!! Been in touch with the retailer and they have said that they would send replacement couplings. Not sure they really understood the issue, but I’ll wait to see what arrives. This could be an expensive mistake for Dapol as I’m not the only buyer with these issues. As these wagons are a ‘desireable’ rather than a ‘necessity’, there is always the option of returning them for a refund if a solution cannot be found. Later, Stu. Disappointed of EGVN!
  12. Hi Gang, Glad to say that Ben has arranged for a replacement PCB for my errant wagon. My impatience was a little presumptuous as I had forgotten the guys had been to Germany for Innotrans. I wonder what deals they may have struck there for future models?? Later, Stu from EGVN.
  13. Hi Gang; No word back in nearly two weeks from the help address listed in the blurb accompanying the JNA wagons. One of the switches fell off the pcb (poor soldering) when I was attempting to fit the batteries. The other two tail light fitted JNAs went according to plan. I aim to be at the GETS show this weekend, so if anyone from Revolution is listening, is there a chance of a replacement pcb, could you bring one along for me please.. Later; STU from EGVN
  14. Hi Gang, Great wagons and have been fitting tail light batteries today. Have a small issue with one of the PCBs, so have emailed the helpline for, well…..help!! Looking to get some more Wascosa JNAs soon, once funds allow! Later, Stu from EGVN
  15. Hi Gang; The pre-production Class 90s on display on the Bachmann stand looked pretty awesome. I'd be interested to see under the hood at the chassis construction to see what developments have been made with a view to using the chassis for other (future) projects. All liveries looked neatly applied but I was surprised that previous running numbers eg 90004 City of Glasgow, are being re-used rather than the option of using something not previously produced. They may have missed a trick in not offering two running numbers of the Freightliner G&W version, but I suppose that is an option for a future run with an 'A' suffix for the stock code. All we need now is a credible version of Mk3 Catenary Masts and portals, and I may have to start working on a design for multi track spans...will need to brush up on my soldering skills!! Later; Stu from EGVN
  16. Hi Gang; Another great announcement and another step towards a Glasgow area layout in the early 80s, making the prospects more feasible with blue and IC electrics, a prototype APT, Class 314s in Blue/Grey, coupled with a smattering of Eastfield 27s and Motherwell 37s on various freights and Engineer's trains. Only glaring omission from the line up is a credible Class 303 (which also ran in the Manchester area later in life, hint, hint). Will probably be looking at a 3 car in Blue/Grey for the above scenario...and a generic DMU sound file may have to suffice if anything more specific cannot be sourced. Later, Stu from EGVN
  17. Hi Gang; This is a great announcement and it is good to see that Revolution are planning to do the two specific types of bodyside glazing. The end lighting also varies between many of the types only really standardising on the later 377/379/387 variants. I, too, think the Heathrow Express units a slightly constricted sphere, but they have been seen at Reading and Oxford for servicing and storage, so not as restricted as first thought. The 379 (if produced) is probably more restricted currently, but could have a future with another operator...but that may mean a new, unknown livery too!! My own preference would be probably for a pair of GWR Green units to bolster my IET and Class 59 with stone train scene, but the offer of a GatEx set is also tempting as they were borrowed by GWR for a while running as mixed sets. I note that the C2C sets (also borrowed by GWR) are not currently discussed and would presume that livery is probably not likely to surface in any initial batch. Lots of options and decisions ahead on where to spend my shekels!! Later; Stu from EGVN
  18. @Revolution Mike What are the chances of getting the balance of my 320 order in the post. I know that I have messed you guys around a bit with my in and out of the country exploits...and I apologise for the various faffs. I'm sure you are anxious to clear the decks of outstanding orders.. Regards, Stu from EGVN
  19. Hi Gang, Not seen my Strathclyde 320s yet, due to a bit of confusion (mine) about collecting them, but I think I might be quite miffed if something as fundamental as the paint spec makes the model look unlike it should. Fingers crossed it is not the whole batch….. Later, Stu from EGVN
  20. Hi Gang; Just popped a couple of Class A tanks and a trio of Zanders into my basket before the order book closes. I told myself that I didn't need any!!🤪 Later, Stu from EGVN
  21. Hi David; Mike H posted about 3 weeks ago that the guys were working through the quagmire of pre-paid, part-paid and changed, cancelled and otherwise complex orders, and asked that we be patient until they had announced that they were getting to the bottom of it all. I'm still waiting on the invoices for two (part-paid) Strathclyde 320s and a change of order for a pre-paid Saltire version. I'm guessing that it is taking a bit longer than expected to get through them all and correlate what the stock at hand is against the perceived order book. Perhaps we'll get an update soon?? Regards; Stu from EGVN
  22. Hi Gang, Just picked up my pair from the Guildford shop today, and got them home eager to test them and see if all is ok. I noted that the couplings were not fitted, so I popped one on each to get them going. 50049 ran nicely straight out of the box and 50007/014 sat there looking pretty with just lights. On looking inside, there is no motor or driveshafts fitted to 50007, just the bogies (complete with pick ups), pcb, dummy chips, and nothing else. If you go back to the first post, it does state that both locos are motorised. I rang the Guildford shop and one of the guys had a look at another one and that is the same, so he has promised to look into it and get back to me. In the interim, they do run nicely as a pair top and tailing the EFE JIAs which fell into my basket at the same time. I’ll update you all when I get more news…. Later, Stu from EGVN EDIT: The paperwork included with 50007/014 states that is without a motor and some adjustments to DCC chip settings may be necessary. So it seems like a planned move to provide 1 powered and 1 dummy. But I am just a bit grumpy as it was advertised as two powered models and this reduces their flexibility somewhat…
  23. Hi Gang; This is an incredibly unfortunate incident with the reversed BR logos, but not insurmountable, due to the specialist decal retailers we have at our disposal. I would like to think, that due to the error being at the manufacturer level, then Dapol would underwrite a run of replacement decals to be provided free of charge to customers who buy the model, which otherwise looks excellent. The precedent has been set for this course of action as Realtrack provided decals to correct a printing error on the Castle Cement PCAs. This ensured that all those who bought their models in good faith could correct the error. In this case, if I were Dapol, I would provide a BR logo on a colour-matched Strathclyde Red/Orange patch to overlay the error, PLUS provide the logos on their own for those who prefer to remove the reversed design. This would be a total of 4 of each logo on a sheet, plus maybe a couple for spares. This would serve to protect Dapol's reputation and show respect and concern for their valued customers (IMHO). Later; STU from EGVN
  24. Hi Craig; I messaged Arran direct and have made arrangements for a replacement. Thanks..STU
