  1. I do not have the space for a OO layout that can run scale length main line trains, that is why I moved to N gauge about 8 years ago

Sorry for a blatant Wishlisting post but all these lovely Mark 2's are coming out in OO and as an N gauge modeller we are desperately crying out for good quality rolling stock, particularly for the blue and grey era (perfect Mark 2 zone 😉 ). What are the chances of Accurscale offering their Mk2 stock in N gauge? We have seen other companies attempt to enter this market with limited success admittedly but they were doing obscure one off types from their OO range, not a staple run of the mill coach. Even offering the TSO up for some kind of expression of interest could be a low risk venture to seeing if there was a market for them
  3. Hopefully the first part is right and the last part is wrong, I was hoping the last batch of 37's would gewt the sound upgrade but no joy yet. Maybe next time

Definitely was planned for DCC, see here In particular " Class 47 LONG RANGE FUEL TANK VERSIONS (NEW TOOLING) This year we are adding to our range of class 47 models and are now going to offer an all new ‘extended range’ class 47. During the 1990s a number of class 47/4s were fitted with long range fuel tanks and RCH jumper cables for working mail and parcels trains, becoming class 47/7. Those locomotives fitted with just the extended fuel tanks for passenger work become class 47/8. We will be producing these locomotives for the first time with a ‘Crewe cut’ buffer beam 372-260 Class 47 No. 47814 'Totnes Castle' in Virgin livery New Body Tooling and Revised Chassis Tooling incorporating Next18 DCC decoder socket and pre-fitted speaker for ease of Digital Sound installation 372-261DS Class 47 No. 47727 'Rebecca' in Colas livery (DCC Sound) New Body Tooling and Revised Chassis Tooling to enable Digital Sound fitting – factory fitted to this model." Hopefully they never dropped it behind closed doors. Given the 31 and N in the same announcement had next 18.
  5. When they were first announced they had a Next -18 and sound version - can't remember which was the sound one. They then dropped it to catch up on the backlog, But if they had readded the sound as an option, they wouldn't say till it lands - see the 08
  6. Totally agree the lack of supply caused the high price of these, if supply now outstrips demand they will eventually end up in the bargain bin. This is the gamble you have to take, buy now or wait for the TMC, Rails, MRD etc Sale email where they go to 40% off

So looking at that list, the May list will be interesting with Mk1 SK's coming, will we see an extra number added to the Blue and Grey, possibly an SO as well to boost the main portion of trains? Also August/September lists the 47 and Mk1 BSK, is the 47 back to sound? It would be crazy they tooled the 14 and 60 to have sound but not the 47 now. Again another batch of Mk1's so will we see extra's land to give them something to pull

I have to say they do seem to be listening a bit, we have been clamouring for seacows for a while and they do numerous liveries - some not offered before - but those Dutch will prove popular as they seem to be the main one's that suffered the price hike on 2nd hand. But to me the 2 08's show they listen to the market, I am not 100% sure on the green but you cannot get a blue sound one nowadays so this will meet demand. There will be more stuff as they only show "new" not existing plans so what's already in the catalogue will bulk this out a bit Now about those Mk2 TSO's and Mk1 SK and SO coaches... 😉
  9. Don't think they will be in this announcement, expected arrival date is outside the 3 month block. Warships are the only model that was planned before the switch due this quarter, will we see anymore announced? Rolling stock is my main hope. I am desperate for some blue & grey Mk1's and Mk2's
  10. I live in hope of something good this year release wise. We did finally get a new loco last year (the excellent 90) so hopefully others will follow. As always its stuff for locos to pull we need

Issue is anything announced will have been planned in advance, it could well be on the boat or even in the warehouse - certainly not a going to on the schedule in the factory still model, so poor sales of the previous runs may not affect this batch. Personally I am hoping for run of the mill stuff, I was in my local model shop last month and not a single N gauge Blue and Grey mark 1 or Mark 2 was in stock, hopefully a new batch will come out soon
  12. Great shop, only shopped over the phone once with them but very pleased with the service. Their facebook posts can often provide a laugh too
  13. No funds were ever taken a they never got passed a basic expression of interest. But still they failed to deliver aby of 4 attempts at N gauge. Whether their business model accounted for serious attempts to break into the N gauge market I am not sure, bit of basic advertising of a few things and not pushing them big style leaves their ambitions in N gauge up for debate
  14. N gauge King N Gauge Shark N Gauge GT3 N Gauge Fell All dropped due to low demand (or beaten to market in the shark's case) so they have failed to deliver there

I model N gauge so their business model does not appeal to the "shot arm and deep pocket" modellers as they referred to us, not so much their models but their attitude at times has to be questioned. Apart from bad mouthing a potential section of your market (which they have chosen to abandon now) the King CAD they bought off DJM Liquidators was originally claimed as their own work but then retracted that to admit it was DJM work. Then they decided o only tool up the single chimney kin thus robbing themselves of anything post approx 1960, except for 10 years of one King on preserved Railways - they wonder why this project failed. Even just something as simple as the Palbrick van they didn't even consider EOI in N gauge, surely a wagon is a low risk venture.

  17. I had a parcel arrive there Tuesday and it reached Cardiff on Friday so its not as bad as other depots it seems

  19. You have to think logically here, a Mark 1 SO for example would sell by the truck load - you need 2 or 3 in a train say and most modellers would have 2 trains. Thats 6 coaches per modeller, plus you get extra liveries out of it so repeat runs are doable. Your production run costs can be covered over a long period. The Dynamometer Car is a one off, ok you get 5 liveries here (2 fictitious granted) but how many of us will buy more than one? I am going to get the 1938 version and that will probably be it. I will be amazed if they get a 2nd run off this tooling so all costs have to be covered in one run.
  20. 1st part is debateable, we still have not had a 2nd run of Mk2F's yet, GWR Castle cla17282PP83516349ss is at one if you ignore the trainset and that was 4 years ago the main lot came out so it could be short while it could be ages. Definitely agree with the 2nd part, plus a sound fitted version of each as well
  21. You have to consider supply and demand here, they did argue at one time the price of a wagon (Seacow?) would be £50 each if done again, yet thats the price they sell for on eBay. Does the lack of supply push the price up here where more people are chasing the same few. Would a shop manage to sell 10-20 Mk2F TSO's in blue and grey at £80 each if the market contains has 1000 out there? Or is it the fact that 1 or 2 appears at a time that keeps prices high?
  22. They do occasionally, I have 6 TSO's all bought on a certain auction site and there was 2 sold on their in the last month, best advice is do a saved search for "Farish 374-737" then you will see if any are added
  23. Same tooling, I own 1 A3 and 4 A4's and find them to be good runners, no noise issues on my end
  24. Apparently the windows on 20030 were larger and this tooling is not offered by Farish so this could explain it, am sure a few will be renumbered in due course to make the pair up
  25. Next quarter I reckon, Virgin and InterCity Swallow to match the 90's and the forthcoming 47/8
