  1. The latest Bachmann magazine is due to collectors club memebrs soon, the 319 is already at tooling stage, samples were at TINGs in 2019 so hopefully livery samples will be seen soon, the 158 CAD was recieved so we may see something soon
  2. To offwer some potential logic, I always think you need 4 types of locos for a good mix - top link tender, mixed traffic, small tender or large tank and small tank. To apply that to Farish you have the following Southern - Merchant Navy, N Mogul, C Class, Tank missing LNER - A1 and A2, B1, J39, Tank missing LMS - Duchess, Black 5, Fairburn Tank or 4F, Jinty GWR - Castle, Mixed Traffic Missing, Small Tender/Large Tank missing, 64XX So there is 4 main gaps to fill - ok there is a lot more to it than that but if you could fill those 4 gaps you would do well for variety
  3. It's a simple mater of predominant members here to me, in the 1980's it was only 40-50 years since the Big 4 were common and the main drivers in preservation were the people who remember this so painted locos as they remember them. Fast forward to the 1990's/2000's and its the BR Brigade who are the main force in groups so their preference comes in. Give it a few years and we may start to see the kids who remmeber the early days of preservation take the lead and bring the Big 4 back again as its what they remember
  4. Anyone else spot the N gauge coupling on the Yellow tank top left? Potential spoiler for more N gauge stock I reckon
  5. Dapol announce stuff as and when, usually appears on their website and Facebook page
  6. I was watching the Crewe Railcam this morning and 68028 came through on a set of Mk5's as a mileage accumulation run. Somehow I cannot imagine they would waste time getting mileage iin if they were about to pull the plug on them
  7. Pontypridd museum show in November 2019, was there with my Dad's layout - certainly didn't expect 2020 to be my first year since 2010 I didn't exhibit at all, or god knows what year I never attended a show at all
  8. The 158 is in development so I cannot see them using the old tooling as most people will wait for the new one, the 170 has been rereleased but not in those colours, have Bachmann/Farish done a TFW, West Midland or EMR train yet? Perhaps they do not yet have permission to do them, I know virgin took a while to allow their livery to appear on models
  9. The last Collectors club magazine had a picture of the 158 CAD, this was also in the last project update video they did on you tube so whilst it may be "quiet" it is still going forward in development
  10. It's working fine for me right now, might be worth you trying again
  11. For those who have not seen yet, 3 more 92's are in - albeit alternative names/numbers on Railfreight, Caledonian and GBRf Liveries www.revolutiontrains.com/class-92s-but-wait-theres-more/
  12. Yes! I have stayed there for a week - we went for my dad's birthday last year - it has 5 bedrooms (2 with en suite) and sleeps 10 people. Lovely big open rooms including a fantastic kitchen and pool table. I cannot recommended it enough
  13. Although just inside the 1980's decade most (if not all) of the engines that went to Rainhill in 1980 would have gone on the mainline so that will add a few, but mostly on light engine moves
  14. Wonder if Rails of Sheffield will commission i? be a good partner to market the complete train I am certainly impressed by these wagons, trying to work out if I can make my layout big enough to fit a full rake in
  15. Given Accurascale is potentially doing a 73/9 with KMS Railtec could we see the shrink ray out and this done in N? Would go with the Revolution Sleeper stock as well
  16. I think the main question has to be, how long before we see a sound chip for Thomas with the correct TV Series sound files, I would certainly buy one
  17. The whole N gauge page has gone, so no Fell, GT3, King or Consett Hoppers. Maybe they don't want to serve the "short arm, deep pocket" gauge
  18. Given the Revolution Trains 320 is expected in Q1 2021I believe it would make sense. Only question is which one? SPTE Crimson & Cream?
  19. No as I doubt the KR one would ever see the light of day and that's before this announcement. I just hope it sells well to justify the production, I know I want some
  20. These models are due in Decemebr so will be on the boat now, Hornby announced theres before production began so had time to amend the order quantity. I doubt Bachmann will be able to make anymore now
  21. Great news, I keep seeing these go for silly money on ebay so glad to have the chance to get one at a normal price. Now I just need a Scotrail 47/7
  22. Another good book, but I cannot find one for sale. Worth looking out for if you can find it https://www.amazon.co.uk/Whats-Lizzie-Day-day-Elizabethan/dp/0956676200
  23. Please do get them up, they usually inspire me to get the models so I can model trains loosely based on formations that happened
  24. Does this mean they are not actually painted? Just a treatment like the edges of wheels normally receive
  25. I bet Ben and Mike can't wait till all the 92's are shipped out to custoemrs, the number of messages they will get will probably decrease by almost 3/4
