My understanding is that in certain parts, if you are naughty, santa just leaves you a lump of coal instead of presents.
You might want to slip this into the conversation next time you need to model a load.
This guide, and others like it, always surprise me with the range of tones you can put into brickwork to end up with a realistic looking finish.

For me, the angle of the fire box slope still stands out a mile on first viewing and doesnt compare well to photos either. Other details become completely academic when a fundamental shape stands out.
We all see things differently though.
Cracking stuff. Are the fancy named train headboards the old Warren Shephard ones? Ive got an unpainted etch and thought i might be able to graft on some Sankeys crests I had blown up to 7mm but I'm not convinced it will work.
Ive tried various Oleos but apart from Slaters, Ive found most to be rather overscale.
M&M who used to have a stand at shows and sold all sorts of useful spares, did some good ones of their own but they've gone now. I fitted some to a Skytrex bolster I later sold and have always regretted not having the buffers back off for the spares box!
Ive got a BR brake van and a GWR toad and realised I'd need 4 different sets of lamps which was getting towards a small mortgage! Slaters do some plastic moulded side lamps and both Modelu and some eBay sellers sell lenses separately which might be an option.
Yes in theory and I've done it before. Last time I tried though, they wouldnt accept any offers saying they were already giving 15% away.
I think the vendor pays, not eBay. Its a condition of being a business seller.
That is a lovely bit of work.
As someone said to Churchward, if I'm being slightly picky, a slightly larger boiler, steampipes, window cab and a 4000g tender would look even better but its not a bad first attempt!
the host server crashed a few months back and when they switched to a new one all the photos were lost.
Some are comimg back slowly and some poeple have loaded their own up again but many are now just dud links.
Am I imagining it or were Hornby upgrading the VEP? If they improve the fronts, that could be an alternative starting point if you are adding sides anyway, and already powered.
Is that your repair and you want to replace with the original (see below)? I assume the original screws into the wheel from the front but it may not work now if the hole has been bored out for that replacement. Slaters amongst others do crankpins but would be a case of finding a way to make them work.
The Greenford branch in West London can offer many things including a daily refuse train, a parliamentary train and back in the day an autotrain - but charm is not amongst its more obvious attributes.
I get the impression the average voter these days (not forgetting a massive number dont even bother) holds the government to account for absolutely everything and wants to be better off in the short term. And thats as far as the thinking (using the word loosely) goes.
I'm not quite sure why anyone would want to be prime minister now, when we are going into a recession which they cant control but thats another story.
As to north south, people are tribal. If anyone did bother to even things up we'd just find someome else to dislike. One thing we are actually quite good at!
This equally applies to almost every question asked on RMWeb, but you won't go far wrong spending some time on Google, especially images, which often unearths all sorts of ideas and inspiration.
Lines with both 14xx and 45xx are actually relatively rare although most of us ignore that.
