  1. No, they were removed sometime between 2008 and 2011 when the site was being cleared prior to redevelopment. This is roughly the same spot now. where the cyclist is is roughly the spot where the sentinel is crossing the road. The other track is about where the Lows lane is written. You can still see sleeper marks in the grass on the left.
  2. Well that looks amazing . Well done. Is the other one finished yet or still in the paint shop?
  3. Those Ashover Coaches in the background look rather good also
  4. I have the above book. Do you have a particular loco number in mind and I can check for you if that helps
  5. Well then Captain, did the LA Awsome work? Any chance of pictures? Do you recommend it before I purchase a bottle as I have a jubilee loco body and tender that requires similar treatment.
  6. Was it Brendon or Brandon or something along those names? I think we dropped him off in Derby on the way back.
  7. I have been trying to remember the name of the other young lad who was there. Andy Y once called him a big unit?
  8. Tarts are Mr Kipplings. “Pudding” is the proper stuff. I’ve had a few oatcakes from Oatcake Annie’s on Victoria Rd, Fenton at Stoke. A proper local delicacy 😋
  9. Not sure what happened there. I’ll try again. we are not in Staffordshire this time, so as it’s Derbyshire I guess Bakewell Pudding all round 😋
  10. I was there 😁 along with Poor Old Bruce 👍.
  11. Hi Jay I can provide a 009 narrow gauge test piece I have built, first exhibited at the East Midlands 009 groups 2022 exhibition last year. Hopefully by next year there could be further pieces built/under construction if you need a display also. I will add the link to the thread (that has not been updated in ages) next time I am on my laptop. Link added
  12. One of the earliest RMWeb days was held in Mickleover back in 2006(?) I’m local if you need any help and can offer a layout/display if you require it. PM me if it helps. Steve.
  13. Just trying to identify the Britannia. Looks like 70031 Byron. The number is illegible when you enlarge the picture.
  14. The car on the right in picture 4 looks like a Ford Anglia.
  15. Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd
  16. It’ still there. Go onto site. Click on publications. Railway Modeller, cup voting and scroll down. https://peco-uk.com/pages/railway-modeller-competition
  17. Back to Woodhead. Any body read this book. First published in 1986. Written by a reporter in Manchester and then Sheffield. I read it when I managed to obtain a copy in 2002. Via an online book seller at the time. Cannot remember a lot of the content but it looks at both sides of the argument.
  18. Many thanks Aire Head for replacing the missing photos at the start of the thread.
  19. The Views changed very little in the last 47 years https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.0713523,-1.3403489,3a,66y,295.67h,90.39t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sqbjpOeZNa1WVftyu8cQCAA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en-GB But you would pay good money to see a peak passing over the top.
  20. Not sure, The one on the left looks like a Vauxhall Nova and the one on the right an Austin Maestro. Both have probably long since rusted away to dust.
  21. This is a shot of 92214 at the GCR gala last Friday. Is that a Speedo connected to the first tender axle? it may be a preservation addition.
  22. An Ex Works "Dorothea" out on a test run after overhaul. Footplate crew keeping a close eye on the loco.
  23. Its part of the Apple Range iPad iPod iPhone iRon 😉 other products are available
