  1. Missed this reply from way back! Did you manage to find an Overwatch game? They don't appear often so sometimes you have to create the game yourself and wait for someone to join.
  2. But.. but... it's only just got it's own section on the forum!
  3. That's looking really good, Ian. I wonder if we can persuade any of the 257 people who voted for a Siphon G in the Wishlist poll that this kit would be much more satisfying to build than buying of the shelf.
  4. No but you should ensure that there is always a toilet modelled somewhere. I think. Can't quite remember where I saw that...
  5. That's exactly how it was for the studio based series - the expert wasn't there to "guide", but dictate the design. On the roadshow and last series based on the roadshow format, however, it was entirely down to the teams to design their own device. We had to submit our plans to the production team for approval prior to the start, in what sounds like a similar process to GMRC. You also had to supply our own scrap! Any "safety" mods were done on the morning of the day of the competition.
  6. Yes, enjoyed it a lot. I was very impressed with the modelling done in the time allotted and you came across just fine.
  7. If this is the case, then the advice is do not create an account at all. Any website that can decrypt your password (assuming they have even bothered with that...) and send it tp you by email is not using secure one way encryption and should be avoid like the plague.
  8. Just checked out the bottle of palm oil in my kitchen cupboard, it's from Ghana. No Rangatans harmed in the production of my curries.
  9. Have to say my first thought on seeing the picture was very similar - it's a postcard so it's whatever colour the colourist chose.
  10. Did I spot most of the Little Didcot stock trundling around on the TV last night? I could have had a bingo card ready - Pooley van - tick; Pollens - tick; T12 sleeper wagon -tick etc
  11. That was a great final, all the teams were brilliant and any of them would have made worthy winners. Congrats to the Aberdeen team!
  12. Early efforts using Games Workshop acrylics. I've since moved away from the brown/warm tones as they do not look like "weathered" wood to me and have moved to more grey/silvery tones.
  13. Apologies for making a joke based on their past performance.
  14. This isn't exactly Renault's first foray into F1, or any motorsport come to that matter.
  15. Hankook compounds are so hard, not even CF shards can puncture them... The last sentence in my previous post was /sarcasm. Hankook are hardly renowned for quality tyres, let alone race-spec ones.
  16. Those people who want tyres to last a whole race may soon get their wish (and more). It appears that well renowned motorsport tyre manufacturer Hankook are tendering to be the 2020 tyre supplier... https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/139872/f1-would-be-wrong-to-ditch-pirelli--ferrari If selected, rumour has it the FIA will change the rules to state that only 1 set of tyres per year will be allocated per team and if there is enough tread left on still, they can re-use them the following year.
  17. I hope these resurface from Slaters. My Midland cattle wagon kit from CC was mis-packed and had one 11ft sole bar and one 9ft solebar in it. I've long given up hope of getting a replacement 11ft solebar from CCdespite many attempts.
  18. Barnstaple (Victoria Road) is the theme of my dream 4mm layout, I would have loved to have seen it in the book too. It's certainly not a sleepy GWR BLT, loads going on there and plenty of size to it. I've managed to get OS maps for it from most parts of the Century through a former contact in the OS. One day.... My N gauge layout plan based on Mortonhampstead is compressed and still takes up 8ft!
  19. It's just a selection of 6 colours of regular acrylic paint for doing wood. You could probably do a better job selecting individual colours yourself from any other range of paints (acrylic or enamels) that better suit "weathered wood".
  20. Just get a copy of Paul Karau's book and stop reading the guesswork/speculation on here.
  21. Well things must be good in the viewing figures dept as they asking for applications for the 2nd series! All 3 layouts tonight were great, was a tough call. Well done Aberdeen!
  22. Finally caught up on the last episode and the thread. Why are people beating on the Fawley Flyers for "not meeting the brief"? Why are Mica's with ice in them any difference to an ice factory? A chilli factory or fire station could be just as tenuous as the fire in an engine. Were you expecting 3 layouts with icy mountains and volcanoes? Personally I thought all 3 interpretations were fine, especially as the production company gave them all the ok!
  23. If you really want them, then chance it, there are some less bad ones out there. You can always get a refund on the replacements if you don't have any luck.
  24. It's become a bit more Dr WTF than Dr Who.
