Maybe that comes from company history as well? Bachmann UK only came around in 1989. Hornby had just recently celebrated 100 years, obviously in a few variations over those years, so that could be part of it.

I think that’s an optical illusion. The cantrail strip seems to curve downwards along the windscreen on the LNER one. The Pullman one it curves up along the windscreen.
Yeah as far as I am aware, the latest version Britannia’s are the same as the first all new R2562 super detailed version. Maybe they will gain a 21 pin socket at some point.
Yes the sliding door versions have moulded roof handrails and the slam door have separately fitted. At least, the Jubilee sliding door versions have moulded roof handrails
