  1. I have one of Bill's NER V3 6 wheel brake vans I must get round to building, note to self ; need to pick up a set of wheels for this at Doncaster. I have a real fascination with Brake Vans especially those of the NER. What I really want is a V5 Ballast Plough Brake Van, I know there is one available in 7mm and it would be interesting to see if the owner of this range would reduce the artworks to produce a 4mm version of the etches, if the origination charge was to be covered and a minimum order quantity commited to. The gentleman in question has certainly offered this in the past with his Dia U20 Steel Snow Plough, which I seem to recall was offered in the NERA journal a few years back. That then brings me to another wagon I really want, namely the NER S1 Ironstone Hopper. In one of the early MRJ mags there was someone based in Pickering who had made an etch for this wagon for his layout based on the Rosedale branch. I tried to purchase a batch but he never got enough orders to do a second production run. However, again this wagon is available from another 7mm manufacturer and again wonder if he could be persuaded to reduce his artworks to 4mm for a batch run, subject to origination costs being covered and an economically viable production run being commited to. In my railway world there would be nothing better than a NER 0.6.0 loco pulling a long rake of Ironstone hoppers with a NER Brake Van at the rear. One day ?

  7. Can anyone confirm if the two LNER Royal Coaches and the LNER Coronation set (in 4mm scale) have reached production yet. I am interested in buying these coaches but cannot get any confirmation to the e-mails I have sent? Thanks
  8. Like the Cloth Wagon but never heard of Majestic Models, are they still in business? I have not been able to find a web site for them, can anyone provide me with further details if they are still in business and hopefully contact details. Of course a list of the models they produce would be really good. Thanks,
  9. Blue 7F to arrive tomorrow, will it get to me before the world ends, don't suppose the mountain of brass kits will make it to the afterlife either. Will have to find a new hobby wherever I end up?

If you end up in the right place, you may find that Isaiah was right and 'His train fills the temple', in which case you won't need a new hobby after all; though for all I know it may mean a change of gauge.

...and if it went wrong that would mean eternity in a place that melts solder and doesn't allow any NER/LNER or P4 ever and only has flammable wooden toddler's thomas toys. I think you may be safe now though.. unless the mayan clock was going slow.

  10. Is it time to start guessing at Bachmanns 2013 releases now (not)

  13. Great Central Railway just announced a new museum is to be constructed in Leicester as a JV between Leicester City Council, the NRM and the GCR, with rail connection to the GCR tracks. To be complete by 2017.

  14. Coach, Is the GNR coach from Kemilway with the half compartment the 61'6'' 249B/277B diagram, if so I will have to order one to go with the Kemilway GNR 58'6'' brake I am currently building. Love these Kemilway coaches but a lot of hard work to construct. SteveT
