  1. Can some one help me with a few questions please? Firstly looking at the sectional wooden buildings, would the window sections be replicated on both the platform and road sides? Would the goods sheds be built from locally won stone or be brick built? I have a few books on the LNWR lines in South Wales but they are light on images of both sides of station buildings and the goods facilities. My interest is in the Swansea area if this would help with any answers.

  3. Would anyone know of pictures of the goods yard at Gorseinon?
  4. Silly me forgot I have a book on the central wales line which details all of the signal boxes.
  5. Can anyone help me shed light on the type of signal box the LNWR installed at Gorseinon and other signal boxes on the line from Pontardullais to Swansea Victoria please? I cannot easily tell the difference between the type 4 and 5 boxes or if it is a Saxon and Formby type box.
  6. Looking good, I have an old Hornby class 47 on my bench as well but have got a double motored lima chassis with ultrascale wheels which I've had for almost 10 years so I'm counting them as free now, I have splashed out on a few Shawplan bits, as I have had all the bits for 10 or so years it owes me nothing really
  7. I'll take it if no one else is interested? Kind regards Richard
  8. Does anyone have any of these they no longer want?
  9. Hi, I have found the body but it is 47838, I don't know if this is any good for you?
  10. Thank you for your reply, quite a minefield really picking diesels to model in the late 60's early 70's.
  11. So I can safely say that I cannot have a split centre headcode class 46 in blue or economy green, did any split headcode class 46s gain full yellow ends before refurbishment?
  12. Only the last twenty had central headcode boxes from new, the others had split central boxes but were modified in the mid to late 60's.
  13. Does anyone know if there was a class 46 with split headcode boxes painted in either blue or economy green? I have looked in my books and on various websites but to no avail.
  14. I'll have a look in the next few days and get back to you.
  15. I'll have a look in my loft as I think I have a bodyshell which I would let go if you're interested?
  16. Thanks fellas, just looking for an excuse to pick up some southern pride ones. 😉
  17. it states on page one that they were used on west of England services but does anyone know if they were used on west wales services at all?
  18. That's great, thank you for the link.
  19. Thank you, I was looking at my stash of these thinking that the wheels in the kit are probably not much use.
  20. Hi John, Can I ask what wheels you used, and if you used pinpoint bearings in the kitmaster bogies?
  21. I got 3 cambrian bogie bolster kits for £35 as they seem to be listed in the shops for nearly £20 each I'll take that.
  22. I've managed to get another kitmaster pullman coach for £30 and 5 books on diesels in the era I'm interested in for £15. Not bad.
  23. Thank you, I thought there was a thread on this but I couldn't find it.
  24. With a little digging I have found that only the last 20 class 46s were built with the central one piece headcode boxes and that during refurbishment at brush traction the twin boxes were replaced with the one piece ones. Does anyone on here have some rough dates of the refurbishment please? I have been reprofiling the nose of a replica class 45 which I have put on an early Bachmann class 45 chassis and if possible I would like to renumber it as a class 46. I could open the two headcode boxes to form a one piece one or score the battery boxes to replicate the class 45 ones but if I don't need to that would be good.
