  1. Found it, April 1994 should any one else fancy a read
  2. Do you have an issue number for this?
  3. I won an MTK d600 kit for £26, I built one years ago but got rid of it which I regretted, will I regret buying this one? Time will tell
  4. A Heljan hymek for £70 why not.
  5. I won a lima class 117 converted into a 122 which has a tenshodo spud motor bogie for £35. Needs finishing off but pretty happy with the purchase.
  6. These look good, I have around 60 kitmaster mk1s to do similar with. I like the lounge car idea.
  7. Thanks both, reason I'm asking is I'm wanting yo buy some of the cambrian kits for these wagons but I'm not really up to speed on the various types, would these wagons be unfitted at this time? I just reread the second post from Brian, that gives me something to look in to.
  8. Can anyone tell me what type of wagons these are please?
  9. I don't know if this is classed as a good buy, I got an MTK class 59 with motor bogie for £50. I read an article in an old railway modeller and it looks like a decent kit for MTK. I know that their is the Hornby /lima one and the Dapol one due soon but I thought it could be fun.
  10. That looks really good. I haven't decided on a layout yet or even what 4mm gauge to use but this looks like a good way to try track building.
  11. Unfortunately, I figured this out three years too late.
  12. I have just finished a "civil engineering" degree at the old swansea metropolitan University now rebranded as uwtsd, and my course was complete rubbish with an emphasis on management and very little technical knowledge and very little maths, in fact I did no maths in the level 5 year at all! So I would have to agree with your statement, because I wouldn't trust myself to design a simple beam for a domestic dwelling opening, never mind anything else. And if most courses are similar in context then we really are doomed.
  13. I'll second this, but cover the concrete with a damp fabric and keep it damp for at least 24 hours. If it's not too late consider putting a membrane underneath to stop the ground from absorbing the water also.
  14. If you're doing the insulation yourself, look for a company called seconds and Co, the sell factory seconds or returned insulation, it's been a while since I used them but you can make significant savings with them.
  15. Are there many south wales images in this book?
  16. When I look in books or online images of both areas, I cannot imagine what it must have been like to live in them, both had severe pollution yet beautiful surroundings if you travelled in the right direction. And some people think we should reopen the pits and other dirty industries again!! I like the look of the stone houses as they fit in with their surroundings, far better than the pebbledash which seems to be the standard choice of "damp proofing" these old house imo.
  17. I originally come from Huddersfield and am currently living in Swansea for the second time, and I can say when they're grim they're grim, but when it's nice both areas can be spectacular.
  18. Says the man modelling the valleys of South Wales.
  19. If you can wait a few days, I could scan some for you as I have 3 in my pile. Just digging out for my shed atm so busy working but I'll should be able to dig the kits on on the weekend.
  20. If you fancy selling it, I'll take it off your hands.
  21. I got a silver fox lms 10000 for a tenner.
