  1. Some absolutely fantastic and evocative photos. Thanks for sharing the link
  2. I spent a good 2-3 hours slowly meandering round the different layouts and traders, it was a really good show. I can't wait for next year especially as it has a NE theme. A big well done to all the organisers for putting on a great day.
  3. First time out in the caravan for a long while and wouldn't you know it, Thornaby yard is across the road!

Next time try that Italian restaurant on the ECML near Tollerton on the Vale of York.

  4. I thought I had OCD, but this takes it to a whole new level.
  5. Mike, I've just spent the last 2 weeks going through every page of this amazing layout. The standard you have achieved is some thing most of us can only dream about, well done, it is truly fantastic! I have particularly enjoyed the descriptions of the work you have completed, the banter and the photos taken. It is one of those layouts that portrays a real life location that is very easily recognisable, my brother in law said straight away 'that's Dent!', you've captured it that well. All the very best, Regards, Karl
  6. The footbridge looks amazing! Well the whole layout does. Will the siding to the left on the station approach be joined to another board? The only reason I ask, is because I am wondering what the sharpest angle is possible on a baseboard joint. Regards Karl

Kev, I spent some time in Whitby last year and thought that a model based on Sandsend would be do able. Looks like you have captured the feel of the line fantastically. I'll follow this to see how it progresses. All the very best, Karl

As the suspect died in the explosion I would take a risk to say that it was a terrorist incident. But just imagine, that could've been Warley!

      Black 5 Bear

Confirmed 22 dead and 59 injured.

What a sickening, cowardly and pointless crime.

Thinking of those who lost have lost people and the injured. Yet again, our fantastic emergency services step up to the bar. God bless all.

  9. Jim, I have just come across this thread and you have captured the Glasgow 'feel' superbly! The tenement block, although you said took a while is fantastic, and how you get your head round all the electricary is amazing. I am just about to start on my next venture, if I can get it half as good as this,I will be happy. Hope the eye heals and enables you to get back to some serious modelling Karl

I am certain that you know there is rather more to ISO9000 than that potential of hydrogen

  16. Very useful website, I really like the 'How to create a riverbed' video. I'll have a play about to see if I can get anywhere near the standard that your wife made look so easy. Regards, Karl
  17. Fantastic modelling and superb photography to show your achievements
  18. Kevan, Glad to here you're on the mend. All the very best Karl
  19. Durham trains of Stanley is a really good traditional model shop in the Northeast. It's just a couple of miles from the A68 if you use that to come South
  20. OH, MY, GOD!! I thought the station buildings were fantastic, the hotel is out of this world. Every time I have seen Lime Street on the circuit the attention to detail fascinates me. Superb modelling Karl
  21. I hope to get down there, as it'll be my first exhibition since moving to the North East
  22. I remember the Mexican police wanting lots of pesos to give mine back to me at the border to Belize, I said 'no thanks' and got another when back at airport camp.
  23. I was driving home yesterday up the A68, saw the sign for Shildon and thought why not! Now the owner of the NRM40 set, and very good it looks too. Can't wait for the Mk3's to come out.
  24. Tom, That looks mighty impressive and an engenious way to give flexibility in the fiddle yard. What software did you use to create you plan? I have benn given 'permission' from SHMBO to build a log cabin 4.5M x 3.5M in size. I have a rough plan in my head, but want to finalise it pretty soon. Regards, Karl
