  6. Hi guys, I have had 2 of Flangeway snowploughs sat around for a few years now, the base models I had were IS2 & IS3. Following the 'Beast from the East' and the affect it had on the railways here in the North East, I thought I'd weather them to indicate a heavy loading and a lighter loading of snow. These were the base models I toned down the yellow a bit and added some Railtec transfers to bring them up to date Using the superb fine snow from Precision Ice & Snow, I started to build up the snowploughs around the chassis areas I then used white flexible bath & Kitchen sealant to build up snow around the actual plough and added some more snow effect. Below is also a snap of a Lima 66 with its motor taken out still in build phase that will form a ZZA - Class 66 - Class 66 - ZZA formation The 2nd ZZA is still in the workshops. I will post more pictures when this is complete Karl

  11. A nice little story nicked from faceache, one which appeared on the BBC when Mary Whitehouse was around so it's not naughty? It was read by the late great Ronnie Barker and there wasn't a single complaint! So... This is the story of Rindercella and her sugly isters. Rindercella and her sugly isters lived in a marge lansion. Rindercella worked very hard frubbing sloors, emptying poss pits, and shivelling shot. At the end of the day, she was knucking fackered. The sugly isters were right bagly bustards.. One was called Mary Hinge, and the other was called Betty Swallocks; they were really forrible huckers; they had fetty sweet and fatty swannies. The sugly isters had tickets to go to the ball, but the cotton runts would not let Rindercella go. Suddenly there was a bucking fang, and her gairy fodmother appeared. Her name was Shairy Hithole and she was a light rucking fesbian. She turned a pumpkin and six mite wice into a hucking cuge farriage with six dandy ronkeys who had buge hollocks and dig bicks. The gairy fodmother told Rindercella to be back by dimnlight otherwise, there would be a cucking falamity. At the ball, Rindercella was dancing with the prandsome hince when suddenly the clock struck twelve "Mist all chucking frighty!!!" said Rindercella, and she ran out tripping barse over ollocks, so dropping her slass glipper. The very next day, the prandsome hince knocked on Rindercella's door and the sugly isters let him in.. Suddenly, Betty Swallocks lifted her leg and let off a fig bart. "Who's fust jarted?" asked the prandsome hince."Blame that fugly ucker over there!!" said Mary Hinge. When the stinking brown cloud had lifted, he tried the slass glipper on both the sugly isters without success and their feet stucking funk. Betty Swallocks was ducking fisgusted and gave the prandsome hince a knack in the kickers. This was not difficult as he had bucking fuge halls and a hig bard on. He tried the slass glipper on Rindercella and it fitted pucking ferfectly. Rindercella and the prandsome hince were married. The pransome hince lived his life in lucking fuxury, and Rindercella lived hers with a follen swanny!

Guess I'll be waiting another 27 years for another win.

  16. My layout is called Didantet. This came about as my wife is called Diane, my son is Daniel and my daughter is Collette (she called herself 'Tet' from being a nipper).
  17. Cracking exhibition today, many good layouts including Guisborough, Ravensworth Junction, Crowtrees Depot and Penna Lane. Had a brief chat with Dave from DJM and even more excited about the 2 x 92's I have on order.
  18. Nik, Peak Forest is a location known by many enthusiasts and instantly recognisable , similar to Shap, Tebay, Beattock, Dent and many others. If you get that 'feel' for the place I'm sure you're onto a winner! 31' long, I'm well jealous! Good luck with the journey, hope it's a good one. Karl
  19. Kev,I'm just up the road in Consett. We're probably at the same stage, my 8' x 2' layout has been mothballed for so long now with kids moving back home, redundancy and relocation. I will get my railway room back soon when my daughter soons moves out, so planning the next layout. It seems so long since I have ran anything, just spending my time detailing what I had and bought recently. Like Craig says, don't be scared about asking questions, you get a speedy response from the encyclopaedic forum members. Regards Karl
  20. Welcome to the forum Kevin, whereabouts in Durham are you? Regards, Karl
