  1. Also the footplate is correctly wider on the rod version. However Hornby DID make a mistake in where they made the skirts symmetrical, they should be asymmetrical which my etches are correct for this.
  2. The spill plates below the sandbox filler openings are included on the etch. For the sandboxes, just reuse the originals by cutting them off and filing the face down slightly.
  3. 4TC available rtr, just need to repaint it,
  4. You could also by going back in 2000 and 2001 recreate "Steam on the Met" as all the locos during the 2 years I rode in it are now (94xx soon) available ready to run. Only missing some LT A60 stock.
  5. RT Models does the tiny sandbox pull rods that run across the sides of the front splashers on the 57xx pannier tanks. http://www.rtmodels.co.uk/rt_models_023.htm
  6. Hello everyone, a couple of items added to the website now, 4mm scale standard gauge. Original WC/BoB AWS battery box cover and coupling deflector plate. Early hunslet locomotive buffers in lost wax brass. The feed has been done on the head so needs to be carefully filed and straightened.
  7. Hopefully the cab and smoke deflectors should be ready in around a month.
  8. Hello Tony, they are not available yet. I've only just got round to adding the original WC/BoB AWS box cover and coupling deflector plate to the website.
  9. Thomas the tank engine the TV series narrated by Ringo Starr (as I'm a millennial) got me into railways. Was never really bought books or magazines but videos of past and preserved railways. Certainly helped with my knowledge and interest. I did on Saturdays though, used to stand on Streatham common station and photograph all the trains and then started exploring the rest of London on a Travelcard. My interest in London buses stopped after 2005 as the last of the proper Routemasters was withdrawn and all the step entrance buses withdrawn before then.
  10. There will shortly be a etch specially for the extended smoke deflector, photos of the test etch are on the RTmodels page on this forum.
  11. The handrail knobs are Markits WD handrail knobs which are the closest to the correct profile for a Sentinel.
  12. I will be a gold member shortly to help support the forum, after all it is only fair as a trader as one of the topics it hosts promotes my products in that sense. I have had advertisement banners in the past to support the forum but havnt done anything for quite some years. I enjoy looking through the forum when I need a break in the evenings or stuck for 45 minutes or more in the middle of no where having to take my legal break from driving.
  13. The model looks good for N gauge. My first bus was T1000 but unfortunately due to circumstances it was sold on and got used for spare parts in the end. Quite a unique vehicle in many respects for a London bus such as digital destination box on the front only as well as other stuff. For those into technical stuff, the first batch was built with air brakes like all modern buses now, however these was returned to Leyland to be converted to air over Hydraulic brakes and subsequent batches built like it from new.
  14. It's had (from RTModels) a MW smokebox door fitted with a ring of rivets added myself, also the chimney has been partly modified with the top half of a MW chimney to represent Kent cement works "Hilda" no633.
  15. I can tell you doing the rail replacement all stns from Shrewsbury to Newport South Wales takes around 3 and a half hours. Shrewsbury to Llandudno junction all stns takes around 3 hours and 45 mins.
  16. Heres one of the new to be released items, lost wax brass safety valve cover, valves and whistle for the Hornby W4 Peckett from RT Models. I'm well chuffed I have got the shrinkage rate spot on, however these will not be for sale until the end of next week as the spring balance valves and whistle are on another mould and are to be sent into me.

  19. After a month and a half or so, I did re open RT Models as the amount of work I was undertaking had calmed down by then and gave me a bit of a break that I needed. When you do everything by yourself it does get too much. Unfortunately for someone else to process orders on my behalf is not that easy as it is vast and is spread across several premises as well as having to pay them.
  20. I will be present with the RT Models trade stand over the weekend. i will see if I get a chance to look around over the weekend.
  21. Hi Paul, the chassis is too fine in terms of width so needs another layer added to bring to the correct width. still more to build to check everything but I know what needs altering. the wagon body floor has etched half dimples to punch out rivets but takes ages to do, a lot of the wagons I photographed didn't have these despite the official makers photographs. with this in mind and the fact the frame work is a struggle to make up, I'm going to drop the rivets and make it all tab and slot to make life easier which will require filing the floor after building, Thats what test etches are for, test build the design and practabilities. I won't say what the hunslet bit is but as usual it's always something random but useful, just hope they arrive in time for Ally Pally. in addition to Ally Pally, I will be bringing with me the nameplates Albert Goodall used to stock which even includes modern image diesels and other regions steam locomotives in 4mm scale.
  22. Hello everyone, last night got a few hours to carry on with the test build of the 4mm scale Ironstone dumpcar. So far, the build is going well but there are areas that need reworking. I've even fitted the compensation rocking unit to this. also included is one standard drawgear bufferbeam as per a few prototypes so you do not need a a buckeye fitted loco to haul/propel these.

  24. unfortunately not, the next sightseeing tour run clashes with the exhibition. my next exhibition after this weekend is not until September so far.
