  1. You may be able to track your package using the GlobalPost tracking system https://www.goglobalpost.com/track/
  2. Beans with breakfast are the work of the devil, shame there are no mushrooms though.
  3. View to the right hand end of the layout. With the layout era moving back in time two buildings, the three storey factory (unfinished) and Nissen hut will need replacing. I believe Nissen huts only appeared from 1916 onwards, whilst the factories concrete with brick curtain structure only became prevalent in the UK from the 1920s onwards (possibly earlier in the USA). Alternatively I could move the era to the very early 1920's (still pre-grouping) which would mean the buildings could stay and I could use some of those Rapido late SECR wagons... decisions, decisions??? Also first photo bottom right shows my high tech turnout operating equipment.

  6. As my original thread is considerably out-dated, please find a refreshed one. A couple of images of a mixed train to be going on with, but those of a delicate disposition should look away now..... A little weathering is needed I feel.

Also: on the border of Vlaanderen and Wallonia dividing the province of Brabant! Can be tossed in olive oil and old bay seasoning then roasted for about an hour in a covered dish. Beste met  stoofvlees, potaten krokettjes en een vlaas Westmalle Duppel . Smakelijk.

Not to worry, I hear the Caymans are overrated. E.g. sometimes they run out of cocktail umbrellas.

  17. Sliver Fox Models do a resin kit for the earlier style class 05 which fits on the latest Bachmann 03 chassis. They also build the kits to order in either original black or BR green liveries. I now live about 1/4 mile from the location of the Ditchingham photo, but even the chickens that inhabited the A143 roundabout have now gone. There was heavy use of the line during WWII due to the number of primarily USAAF airbases in the immediate area and this continued in to the 50's after the sparse passenger service was withdrawn. The line is covered in depth in the Lightmoor Press book 'The Waveney Valley Railway' by Peter Paye. Little remains of the site except for a road still named 'Station Road'. After the maltings burnt down they were replaced by apartments built in a similar style as the original building as it is within one of the two conservation areas in the village. The sand & gravel pits are now a nature area and good for walks, fishing etc. Both the 'Memories of Norfolk's Old Railways & Stations' Facebook group and the equivalent one for Suffolk contain many useful images and one of the few bits of Farcebook I bother with these days
  18. I'm sure that D.H Lawrence's 'Sons & Lovers' was on the 'A' Level English Literature syllabus in 1975 along with Elizabeth Gasgell's 'North & South', George Orwell's '1984' and poetry by Robert Browning and James Joyce. Up until then my reading was mainly music, car and railway mags, technical manuals and one or two other 'specialised' publications!
  19. I seem to remember we had 'Sons & Lovers' - but were interrupted by the lunch bell

  22. One manufacturing advantage of Unifrog turnouts is that you no longer need to produce two distinct types for each turnout (Inslufrog & Electrofrog). This therefore simplifies production processes and probably overall production time for each range. This time / production capacity can then be utilised to produce other turnout ranges such as the Peco Bullhead range. What many UK modellers often appear to overlook is that OO bullhead turnouts with 4mm sleeper spacing are actually a minority interest, compared to the sales of the code 100, code 83 and code 75 ranges in the rest of the world (and within the UK as well). This was illustrated some years ago by the introduction of code 83 track and turnouts for the USA market where Peco is one of the major track suppliers, well ahead of anything specialised primarily for the UK market.
