  1. Extinction due to the asteroid strike still took a long time and didn't wipe out all the dinosaurs - see "Where have all our garden birds gone?" for pictorial evidence of how dinosaurs evolved to suit their changing environment. (I tried to think of some whitty way of relating dinosaurs to model kits but failed.)
  2. When I saw this message I did a search for the file types that might be affected. I found a small number of files and a few spot checks confirmed they would not be affected by the licensing problem. I therefore continued with the installation and so far everything is OK.
  3. I dunno Bill, perhaps that's a more effective deterent?
  4. You see, that's exactly the kind of pointless specialisation that wastes money! I'm sure a BBC Amphibians website would have been sufficient.
  5. There's a cottage at the Black Country Living Museum where the privy outlet leads straight into the pig pen.
  6. Like a few people, but not everyone, I prefer to turn off things I do not need, uninstall software I did not ask for and not allow apps to use things like the camera or microphone without my permission. I did the latest update this morning which appears to have worked OK but yet again there were a few settings to check afterwards and unwanted apps to remove. I did not make a note of what I did but if the Microsoft default approach bothers you then you may wish to check what it has changed as part of the update.
  7. I think you're worrying unnecessarily there Graeme. When does Tony ever set the points wrongly?
  8. FYI This is recyclable where you live Keith. Into the green bin it goes.
  9. Yep, I knew that Ducky. Hence the comment. They can also be found in UK waters so your relatives may be nearer than you think! Re: "Sort the stock..." - May I suggest you take a few photos when you do this, for insurance purposes. Re: 2. - Ask on here first, you might save the fees.
  10. Who can remember having a continental quilt before the days of duvets? btw - What's an Eida?
  11. I can't think of any circumstances where that is appropriate on a civilised thread like this! Where's Grayson when you need him?
  12. I agree and perhaps wait until it is complete and can be viewed in situ, i.e. final distance and light conditions? btw - Looks great so far.
  13. It's nice to see you're happy to talk about it though.
  14. The local freebie newspaper has just been put through the letterbox complete with wraparound cover advertising Newman University which begins with "A level results day Thursday 16th August 2016 ...". Clearly not the place to study maths, chronology or similar.
  15. Sound advice above. I would add that if you are selling higher value items (e.g. locomotives) that you use Royal Mail Signed For and for lower value items ordinary post is fine but, as fozzy280472 says, never post anything without going to a Post Office and obtaining a Proof Of Posting (no additional charge and gives you some insurance cover). Unless you are in a hurry why not list a few low value items and let the whole process run through from listing to seller receipt and, hopefully, positive feedback? This will allow you to familiarise yourself with things and also get your feedback rating up which should provide some reassurance for future potential purchasers. I did this years ago, starting with a couple of Airfix kits sold for a few quid. Since then I have bought and sold thousands of items and problem transactions are still in single figures.
  16. Well the cat has been very emotional recently and has developed a liking for pickles and ice cream.
  17. That's good to hear Allan. I don't know what operating system you are running but assuming it's Windows just click on the icon at the bottom left of your screen and open Windows Explorer. Locate the files (use search again if necessary) and then move them to where you want them to be. You can often do this a whole folder at a time. Once you have everything sorted again make a back up!
  18. But that would only confirm that the cat was present or not when the scanner was switched on. What about the rest of the time?
  19. Are you actually certain the files have been lost and not just moved? Have you tried searching for one by name? Would it help to look at the files on the memory stick by date? Perhaps that would be a way of grouping them and minimising the number you needed to open. Alternatively, you could choose to display them as icons which might allow you to identify each picture without actually clicking and opening. btw I wouldn't rely on a memory stick for a back up. At the very least keep an additional duplicate.
  20. That was a little confusing for a moment. I was just trying to figure out why I recognised that German bloke. Then I read a little further.

    Hornby D16/3

Green is correct for 8600 Claud Hamilton and the two 'Royal Clauds' mentioned above.
  22. It'll be Tony's 6th apearance in MRJ Martin, so he's already in the hall of fame. (Cue modest response from Mr Wright.)
