  1. You have a very tidy desk, my work bench is much worse than that!!! Just googling modelstock, brings up some very appealing young ladies.
  2. It would be great if they came without the cab shutters, or they were an add them yourself item.
  3. Thirty, twenty by the GW and a further 10 by BR. I think Rob, will have a job to get all those locos on ANTB.
  4. If there's a phone number, give Gordon a ring, he's usually very helpful.
  5. Neal, If you can't programme it, can you swop the wires on the motor?
  6. All this battery technology is wonderful until it catches fire and can't be put out. I overheard a conversation about batteries and them catching fire, several fire departments are investing in water tanks and Hiabs because they can't deal with it any other way, pick the vehicle up and dunk it. I have no idea how you manage to get strops under the vehicle to lift it. I wouldn't want to be on a train where a battery caught fire, there's no where to go, at least until the train comes to a stop. Our local council are urging us not to put batteries in the bins because they have had one or two catch fire, when they compress the rubbish it damages the battery casing and up it goes.
  7. When we had coal fires the ashes were spread over the garden, unless dad had some sort of building project in mind, in which case they went there, as a base layer.
  8. There's a feature in Templot that allows you to print grouped templates, I have no idea if a group print could be exported as a PDF, but I would have thought it was worth a try, if you don't want to print the whole layout.
  9. I for one, won't be holding my breath. There's an election looming in the not too distant future.
  10. I take then, that the trainset sorry layout will have a large magnifying glass placed in front of it, to allow the senior scale boys view it, at a size that they are used to viewing.
  11. Does this mean ewe'r going to inflate one of ewer layouts to 7mm, or a completely new 7mm layout?
  12. There are photos around that have almost complete trains consisting of 6 wheel siphons and at least one PBV. In fact I believe that the GW built at least one PBV specifically for milk traffic.
  13. I'm no expert, but I would have thought not, most PO wagons were for mineral traffic, which doesn't need protection from the elements. The only exception that I can think of was salt, those wagons have rooves.
  14. I didn't know about the Saltash show, until your earlier post, I'm already down to visit Yealmpton and I doubt that I will get the chance to do Saltash as well, which is a pity. Perhaps the organizers of the shows good get together to avoid a clash, next year.
  15. I believe that the Yealmpton show is also next weekend!
  16. Whilst I was on the Canadian, Vancouver to Toronto. I got chatting to an American businessman whose company produces the software for various countries tax collection, including ours. I mentioned the state of HS2 and it being put on a back burner, he said in the States when such financial dilemmas occur they just print more money to cover it, the idea being to keep people employed and paying taxes and thus keep tax revenues rolling in, not going out in state handouts.
  17. The Tellytubbies services is Gloucester (Farm Shop) services, probably one of the best services, that I have had a need to stop at.
  18. There's no crossing the track, the existing track is pushed over to the island platform face and the existing platform is extended to meet the realigned track, thus making a platform face on both sides of the train, as per Horsted Keynes on the Bluebell Railway, exit on one side, you're on the station side platform, exit the other side and you're on the island platform. You pass through the train. When I have travelled the route, I have not seen anyone alight or join to travel between Bere Alston and the Gunni line stations or vice versa.
  19. Having just about caught up with this thread, by skimming through it, I have a suggestion for Bere Alston use the island platform slew the existing line to it, extend the existing platform out, put the Gunni line on the other side of the island, passengers requiring the Gunni train alight on the island, those requiring Bere Alston alight on the extended original platform. No bridge, no steps and no lift required. The Gunni train is safely locked into it's own section of track. The first train would divide and the last would combine.
  20. I saw a Castle set passing over St Levan viaduct on Tuesday evening around 6.40 heading towards Plymouth. No time to get the phone out and snap a quick photo.
  21. Pre 1922 Lake livery, 1922 to 28, lined panel or faux panel with the garter crest, post 28 plain chocolate and cream with the twin cities crests.
  22. Such are the vagaries of the war office/MOD. There were several establishments in the Yelverton area, now either abandoned or housing estates. Mostly the latter!
