I think that it's a good thread because it shows how modellers will rally round when things go sour.

Sounds like a report from a "Believe it or not!" book!

TBH  The only time I saw it in the flesh, it was in the workshops at the NRM when they were trying to fix it. Eventually they gave up and sent it to an outside contractor.

Whatever was going on in that photo, I'm sure there is a logical explanation for it.

Due to the fact that it is 1 1/2 coaches, I'd say it's just the time lapse between photos

  19. what is the "reputation" thing all about anyway

    1. halfwit

      halfwit

Little green '+' button bottom right of each post. When pressed increases posters rep. by one. Used to say 'thank you', 'thats usefull', 'thats good', 'I agree', 'thats funny' etc. Added as a way of thanking someone without clogging up a thread with 'me too' posts.

    2. sir douglas

      sir douglas

does that also increase the "reputation" bar in my profile page?

  20. just realised that 16.5mm gauge is closer to 1' 11" in 1:32 scale than 1:43.5

    1. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

Google or Wikipedia should be able to help with the definition of 'Chancery' - could this be the legal subject - 'Court of Chancery' by any chance? However, not much connection with Chat Moss, apart from the fact that both begin with 'ch'...!! ;-)

    2. sir douglas

      sir douglas

the "chancery" is in the R&ER book not the chatmoss book

Well worth a visit, go by rail and sample The Ratty Arms Pub on the main line station, real ale and good food. If you travel back towards Barrow and get off at Foxfield The Prince of Wales is across the road, its a brew pub, and the food is super.

    2. ozzyo

      ozzyo

PS; there's a good pub at Dalgarth as well about a 1/4 mile walk.
