I can think of a few championship teams who would beat England.Control was poor all over the pitch.Sloppy but got the point they went for.Roy's a bit negative me thinks.I hate the phrase doing a job .
Moving on ten years and we see a pair of Castles [5049/5011] on the down Royal Duchy. The photographer must have been short of colour film at this time.
The station porter,Mike Roper, chats to a waiting passenger sitting on a bench,Zach Plunkett as 45xx class prairie 4547 also waits in the sunshine in the South Hams.
If like me you would like to preserve Hornby's lining on the distance piece,I would recommend using the Modelmaster version and carefully trim around the name only and fix this with adhesive.I've done this on their Castles to great effect.

A doddle with a dab of Evostick.I trim the wings on them as they stick out quite far.MM do quite a range too.

Merci beaucoup Monsieur !
Anyway it's the summer of '57 as Castle class 5049 'Earl of Plymouth' brings the up Royal Duchy into the barren looking fiddle yard.Isn't it great having no stock. Inspired by a photo,I'd like to think R C Riley would have approved. One thing I will need to disguise here will be the joining of the new backscene with the current offering.A large seamoss bush/tree might suffice.
I hope you're having a glass of the local brew whilst you are there.Have one for me too. I'm not one to jump to conclusions but no one has seen either Mallard60022 or the Finching sisters for a while now.
Another weathered beauty here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AWESOME-Bachmann-PRAIRIE-TANK-DETAILED-WEATHERED-GWR-/200960601447?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2eca2f6d67
They are all weathered David.Put your glasses on man. If that sign is removable I could always change it to something more appropriate.
Yes factory weathering can be a bit hit or miss [pun intended]
Can I justify adding one of these to this rake I wonder, http://www.gaugemaster.com/item_details.asp?code=B34-325C as it looks the part.Although it does say Derby on the side . Any suggestions.
