  1. 8750 class pannier 3796 trundles through Brent with a down coal train to Plymouth. Whilst 4547 departs with a train down the branch.
  2. I can think of a few championship teams who would beat England.Control was poor all over the pitch.Sloppy but got the point they went for.Roy's a bit negative me thinks.I hate the phrase doing a job .
  3. Moving on ten years and we see a pair of Castles [5049/5011] on the down Royal Duchy. The photographer must have been short of colour film at this time.
  4. You're not watching Englands 'crucial' world cup qualifier then....
  5. My 72xx roof came off with gentle persuasion. No one got hurt.
  6. The station porter,Mike Roper, chats to a waiting passenger sitting on a bench,Zach Plunkett as 45xx class prairie 4547 also waits in the sunshine in the South Hams.
  7. GWR liveried 8750 class 3796 with a coach on a branchline in the summer of '47. Return working later on...

    Hornby Star Class

If like me you would like to preserve Hornby's lining on the distance piece,I would recommend using the Modelmaster version and carefully trim around the name only and fix this with adhesive.I've done this on their Castles to great effect. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/53800-br-liveried-castle-class-5049-earl-of-plymouth/
  9. A doddle with a dab of Evostick.I trim the wings on them as they stick out quite far.MM do quite a range too. http://www.modellers-mecca.co.uk/corridor-connections/3484-ls-05-05-Bachmann-br-mk1-4cep-emu-corridor-connection.html
  10. A few more of 5049 and another close up of my Modellers Mecca gangway with Bachmann pipework set up.Ignore the dust particles.
  11. Merci beaucoup Monsieur ! Anyway it's the summer of '57 as Castle class 5049 'Earl of Plymouth' brings the up Royal Duchy into the barren looking fiddle yard.Isn't it great having no stock. Inspired by a photo,I'd like to think R C Riley would have approved. One thing I will need to disguise here will be the joining of the new backscene with the current offering.A large seamoss bush/tree might suffice.
  12. Quel est le tas de ferraille faire dans mon parking de la station? Où est mon bien-aimé classe 4500 est parti? Un voyage agréable hein marque?
  13. My money would be on Kernow to commission one of these. They do have Cornish connections.
  14. Taken from the Kernow models newsletter a rear 3/4 view of 64xx. http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/images/prod_40069.jpg
  15. That'll be an old penny then. He has Eastern leanings too and they've been there before. They never learn.
  16. I hope you're having a glass of the local brew whilst you are there.Have one for me too. I'm not one to jump to conclusions but no one has seen either Mallard60022 or the Finching sisters for a while now.

  18. Really nice quality scenics Dave. The products that are readily available nowadays are far superior to stuff not long ago.Static grass is all the rage.

    EBay madness

    Another weathered beauty here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AWESOME-Bachmann-PRAIRIE-TANK-DETAILED-WEATHERED-GWR-/200960601447?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2eca2f6d67
  20. Thanks Chris and as it happens I have one and it was bought off Mallard60022 of this thread and parish. Its rather clean at the moment.
  21. This sounds like a cracking plan and will follow this with interest. It also explains your recent book purchase. Good luck with your project.
  22. A 50 ft parcels van or a Thompson full brake. Both the same price and both from Bachmann.

  23. They are all weathered David.Put your glasses on man. If that sign is removable I could always change it to something more appropriate. Yes factory weathering can be a bit hit or miss [pun intended]
  24. Can I justify adding one of these to this rake I wonder, http://www.gaugemaster.com/item_details.asp?code=B34-325C as it looks the part.Although it does say Derby on the side . Any suggestions.
