How about no building? Model a space where a building was, but has now been demolished , leaving just a a set of large wooden/steel supports shoring up the side of next door building. You could have some fun modelling the wallpaper on the remaining wall.

Bachmann's 47306 is a good match for 47326. Both Brush built examples. All the 47/3's had sealed boiler ports, so no issues there. The era you're looking at, almost all of the them had had the "Crewe Cut" i.e. skirts removed. A brief glance at a Flickr shot of 47306 shows the liveries match; just the multiple working receptacle on No.2 end may be a slightly different position ? But that's being really picky.

The sub in the picture has obviously seen service, so I would guess this is not the delivery trip from Barrow to Faslane.

Frames made from balsa wood would give some rigidity. Individual plastic card uprights with just the mesh would be very difficult to keep in place.

I'm pretty sure Bachmann have not done a refurbished, Darlington built 37/7. The nearest/best that I can find is 37706, which would have the correct bodyshell apart from the cantrail grills (not a difficult addition). As 37114 mentioned, the nose grills would also need to be checked too. This model also has the advantage of being fairly easy to get hold of; unlike some of the other limited editions which would also fit the bill, but are as rare as a punctual Northern service.

Most pre-orders come with the caveat that the prices may change. And with Bachmann's announce/release schedule measured in decades, I don't know of any retailer who would risk guaranteeing a price. And no online retailer (who wants to stay in business) will honour a genuine pricing mistake.

If they are trying to capture what is a tiny, tiny market (Hungarians, who model current day operations, who are willing to have mixed gauge models), they might have been better to try it out with one of the old tooling Hornby 86 or Lima 87s. It's certainly an interesting livery but I fear it'll still be on the shelves many months after release; something that wouldn't happen with a Large Logo class 56. And if you're chasing cash flow...

My experience from a basement in Switzerland with regards to humidity… Recommended humidity is between 30-50%. I use a de-humidifier to keep the humidity levels under control and this works fine apart from having to empty the bucket every few days during the summer, when humidity levels can creep up to 75%. Most dehumidifiers have an option to collect the water in a bucket or send it through a pipe to a drain. During the colder months humidity is not such an issue; I looked yesterday and the level was 45% with outside temps in the low single figures. If outside temps are that low, the level of building insulation will clearly have a bearing on the inside temp. I’d be looking at a thermostatically controlled heater that stops the temps dropping too low. What “too low” is – I’m not sure, but around 10-15 deg. perhaps?

I’m currently working towards a new modelling workbench and I was considering using a 635mm deep kitchen worktop. After I’ve installed 150mm of storage drawers for tools, paints, random stuff etc., I’m left with 485mm; about 19” in old money. Will that be sufficient? Anyone have less and need more? Anyone have more and needs less? Notes… I’m going to use an A2 cutting mat which is 420mm deep. Width is not an issue I’m modelling in OO (and possibly O)

The whole point about cork is that it's quite dense. Dense things act as sound deadening. In cars, they use butyl rubber pads to stick to the insides of the panels. It's dense and therefore heavy. great for stopping the panels rattling like a drum. Polystyrene is not dense and so will not give the sound deadening that cork will provide.

The best piece of graffiti I ever saw was round the back of Leamington Spa station. It simply said "Avoid Cider". It could just have easily said "Avoid MDF".

I’d say the green colour is the LNER tourist green as applied to the West Highland Mark 1 coaches. The colour of your building looks a little too turquoise to me; which of course may be the light/camera.
