Michael Hodgson
They are already saying there will be some shortages in the shops because of the Suez blockage which apparently might take quite some time to clear. I daresay the traffic jam waiting for them to refloat the offending ship will exacerbate the container shortage. I gather this ship is larger than usual for the canal and the Suez pilots are saying I told you so. Of course it is open to ship owners to forget the Canal and go round the Horne, but that takes longer so it will still mean delays.

Yes, and will be for days yet. I know a shipbroker who is very concerned by this as it is not only the delays now, but the knock-on consequences that will linger. He was saying, some ports in the world are only accessible on particularly high tides and that if they are missed, can lead to delays of a month or more. CoBoLoco
I just hope they are not stuck on the Ever Given like Dapol's 122s & Yeoman hoppers. That would properly suck.

I presume that they are not on the Evergiven itself (like certain other new releases ;-) ) and just got caught up in the backlog of ship delays and container shortages. The release of cargo that's actually on the Evergiven could be months/years in some cases before the legal ructions are resolved. Hi @Ruairidh Munro, Correct, we were caught up in the aftermath rather than the Evergiven itself, which is lucky in its own way. We certainly feel for Dapol who have been caught up in it which is most unfortunate. Cheers! Fran 3

Probably using the middle coach as a spacer as 2 KUAs together would be well over the limit on some of the bridges. PFAs are normally used for this purpose. 1 2
