RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted January 11, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 11, 2016 Bloody mobile phone, if I'd have looked closer and had a decent screen I'd have seen the portals outside Victoria, one shilling coming your way. The LNWR stables are still in the vicinity I believe, and the LNWR engine shed lasted until site clearance began sometime in the 80's if memory serves me correctly. The tangle of lines in the area is fascinating, competing companies trying to get a toehold in Sheffield, the LNWR finishing up at City Goods, via running powers on other lines, on the roof of the warehouse with lifts down. Fat Controller
Or being worked on? There are wheelsets on the ground near by. I'm wondering if they're the undamaged wagons from a freight that had derailed nearby, with the wheels being part of what remained of their less fortunate brethren? The scrap they're loaded with looks as though it could be composed of cut-up wagons. Edited January 21, 2016 by Fat Controller

Porcy Mane
Short train with a load not often modelled. https://flic.kr/p/CprQec That's one of those loads were you'd be laughed out of an exhibition if you modelled it. P

Porcy Mane
We've had several pics on this thread where the white stripe actually extended (incorrectly) into the upper corner. It looks like this one was was incorrectly painted and then corrected? Another variation to model? And although Ernies images doesn't allow embedding, and allready having posted up this link Months/years ago; this stripe variation is definitely deserving of another look. If only to try and get into the mind of the painter, to wonder what he was thinking when he applied the stripe(s) on this wagon. Surely the other side was OK? https://flic.kr/p/9KqRvq P
