Jack00
To show the progress of the cattle dock and raised area. This was the area where camping coaches were stabled Between 1957 and 1961(ish) Used during the summer for holiday makers. Also the cattle dock was used for its stated purpose. Transporting cows for market. The good thing is I can choose between camping coaches or cows depending what I want to run on the layout. This enables small shunting potential aswel as up/down branch trains. Right, off to the Railway room for some more tinkering. Jack

Jack00
http://crjennings.com/The%20Remains%20of%20Britains%20Steam%20Age%20Railway/Rems%201.html Found this link and its very very interesting! Lots of photos of old stations/steam sheds/goods sheds and track diagrams. Theres one of St.Agnes pre-refurb' (pre-1947ish) single line and platform. Steam railcars and autocoach combinations were used and 14xx's. Jack
Jack00
I've made progress on the scenics and station road enterance. Which is smoothed down towards the goods area. Some heavy weights just while it dries. Eventually it will be covered it DAS to get a rough texture. I think once the gates and fences are added it will really help set the scene. I'll try and get more photos of the enterance posted up. Jack
Jack00
This BR notice chalk board seems very fitting for St.Agnes. Its foggy/misty most mornings up there. Jack

Jack00
A bit of a disaster the DAS has fully dried but cracked in places. Think another coat of the terracotta is due. As this type of DAS has not cracked yet in my experience More soon Jack
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 13, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 13, 2014 Put weeds in the cracks !!
Jack00
Good idea Stu. Maybe use a wet brush to smooth the big ones out and add weeds to the rest. It may even give a good effect?
Jack00
Out for a pint now. But have 2 days off from work and plan on doing work on the layout. 'Andsum! Jack
Jack00
Ouch my head! Bit hungover, but it won't stop me from a bit of modelling. Hoping I can sort the DAS out and make it look better. Another layer of filler is needed on the goods shed end. After looking at a few other similar layouts on RMweb, it looks as though very fine grit or sand is used mixed in with natural ground colour paint and used for goods area's and station car parks. Think i will have a good test before deciding, and seeing which is more effective. But first a cup of tea!! Jack
cornish trains jez
Hi Jack, Bacon sandwich is always a good cure for a hangover! Best regards, Jeremy
Jack00
Mmm...bacon! Proper job. Jack Edit: Jeremy I don't know why but giving you a "useful/informative" for that made me laugh! Small Things I spose.
Jack00
A picture to show the landscaping. This is the cattle dock and goods area looking towards the station building. Ive used polystyrene, filler, and DAS. now its completely dry I've sanded it all down nice and smooth, also reduced the transition of higher ground to flat baseboard level, which to be honest was bugging me a bit and I did contemplate ripping it up starting it again. But a good bit of elbow grease and im happy. Jack
