What's the reliability of the 745/755s been like lately?

They're pretty good to be fair, odd failures but generally settled down to be reliable. Multi testing is still going on most days and new versions of software are also being tested so again, ironing out niggles.

Thanks for the feedback Dave. Like most new things they've taken a little bit of time the "bed themselves in", but now they have lets hope they can deliver the service they were built for.

The seats don't get anymore comfortable and the ride seems to get worse!

If you sit over the bogie there is a lot of noise,  not a patch on what they replaced I hate them

Had my first experience of travelling on them last night, only between Ipswich & Stowmarket (about 12 mins each way for those that don't know), so not really long enough to get the effects of the hard seats.

My overall impression was of rapid acceleration, and really bright interior lights !!

Cheers,

Phil.

Try London to Norwich!  They do accelerate briskly especially the small ones on electric

You mention another issue with modern trains , far too bright interior lighting making it virtually impossible to see anything outside the train

Services on the LNE and GWML are decimated, but over in bucolic Anglia @russ p gets to drive his own class 37 to the model train shop and back again in time for tea.

All those teething troubles with the new 745 / 755 looks like nothing compared to the rest of the network.

Summer must almost be here - the sun is (finally!) out in West Yorkshire and 27th May sees the first Scarborough Spa Express of 2021.
