Ooo err what's this! I check in now and again to see your latest works of art, and I recall a while back saying the GE is hard to resist - looks like you have come over to the dark side after all!

They're fantastic models and look right at home, enjoy.

How do you find the Pecketts for coupling height?

Mine has decidedly low ones, making coupling to wagons a challenge.

Morning Stubbers.

I have three and they appear all good.

Stating the obvious....is the NEM pocket all the way in?

Good question, I'll need to check. If most are ok, then it could just be mine.  I know it was immediately consigned to the naughty step when I tried to use it on Tinners last time out.

If it was down to poor running, try checking the following,

The adjustment on  the front pick ups is really important. If they're not equal it will force one or other of the crankpins into contact with the slide bars as it all rotates. This will give you less than smooth running. I have also taken a bit off the front crankpins,  a smudge to try and increase the clearance.

It runs fine, ta, it was just the coupling (bar) being too low. When I get T-CATS setup at the weekend, it'll have a session on The Circle to run it in a bit too.

Having now replaced the tension locks......it would appear that despite earlier information ...........mine are about a mm too low........just what you need when one is about to attempt a short public information  film...

Put lots of weight in the cab and only use the front coupling...

Hi Rob,

These layouts just get better.

I have one question for you: how did you weather the trackwork?

I ask as it has a look that I would like to emulate on y current layout.

Thanks and regards,

Alex.

I won't be in the pub for eight or doing the quiz.  Don't keep me a seat. I'm not ironing my shirt or combing my wool.

Evening all.

After attending the RMweb members day at Taunton with Sheep Dip yesterday, I need to take stock. It was a bit hectic but jolly good fun.

If anyone who frequents this thread hasn't looked in on on the various threads  for the show,  please do.

So, I shall get organised before my next post.
