Thank you, Mick, for confirming that, in that photo’ of Anlaby Road crossing the vehicle seen is a horse tram. Well, this evening, with thanks once again to John Turner, and Peter Brumby, on Flickr, we are seeing Gresley V3 2-6-2T, 67684, once more, this time as it departs Brough station with the 5:15 non-stop fast service to Hull, in c1963. Note the BR Mkl TSO which is the first carriage. Best regards, Rob. I could be wrong, but I think this is a mid morning return working to Hull. The service is on the slow line, thus a stopping service. I have a similar photo taken by Peter Rose which shows the train leaving Platform 1 formed of 3 Mk1 coaches, a TSO behind the loco (with the toilet window leading as in this photo), a BSO in the middle and a CK at the rear. When the V1/3's moved on, the service was worked by a class 37 until DMU's replaced the loco hauled working. There is a photo elsewhere of D6782 arriving at Brough working 2H57 with the same 3 coaches.

RMweb Premium 31A Posted April 7 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 7 Interesting that 61032 is missing its front draw hook as well, a bit like the ones that were used as carriage heating boilers although this isn't one that was allocated a Departmental number for that purpose. According to the BR Database it was withdrawn from Dairycoates 21/11/1966; perhaps it already was when the picture was taken? 1 1

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted April 11 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 11 Good evening, everyone. First I must apologise about the slip up about the railtour from yesterday when the predictive text got me to put Yorkshire instead of York. It has now been corrected. This evening we have four more photo’s to enjoy, courtesy of Murray Liston, John Turner, Chris, and John Law, all on Flickr. The first one is a view of the Derwent Valley Light Railway in York, at the premises of Yorkshire Grain Driers Ltd, who had their own loco to shunt grain wagons around their Dunnington site. This 1930s design John Fowler 4100005 was built in 1948 for Reed Paper’s Colthrop Mill at Thatcham and was sold here in 1971. It was named Churchill and apparently did not see too much use, the exhaust is covered by a black bag when photographed here on the 20th July, 1979. Next we have a photo’ of 37250 about to cross St George's Road level crossing in Hull with a train of 16T mineral wagons, on the 14the May, 1983. The third photo’ shows 55009, at Gilberdyke, with the 08:05 Kings Cross to Hull express on the 30th April, 1981.
