The length of OO gauge track on this layout is less than 1ft. The visible, on scene length is less than 6".

Hands up who thinks the purchase of a new loco, for use on this layout, is a good idea.

The purchase of a new loco for any layout is always a good idea.

Totally agree. It's a reward for the layout. Makes it feel loved.......wanted......cwtched...

Stubbers tells us that there is only a short length of track to utilise.

Therefore we need a short loco on which it can run.

It's all coming together and the logical loco is a Peckett.

I mean, they are such inoffensive little chaps as the famous Hattons ruler points out so very well. Tiny........look.....

In fact he could have two on the layout at the same time.

Sorry to hear about the road motor accident, Stubbers, but am glad that no one was hurt.

Still, I suppose it gives you a bit more time to choose which Terrier you're going to get in due course. And here's a bit of a silver lining, they might be selling 'em off cheap by that time.

I also have a 3D bodied Dean Hill loco on a Kato chassis, but it's a bit too fast and uncontrollable for slow speed work.

Oh dear, you wouldn't get that kind of trouble with a Terrier.

(or a Peckett).

I went to KMRC today.

I did not buy a Terrier.

I did not buy a B4.

I certainly did not buy a Peckett ( none left in the bargain bucket).

I did not buy any U channel plastic strip, nor 2mm brick  embossed sheet, both of which I would have purchased had there been any.

I consoled myself with an open 009 carriage and a pair of 009 bolster wagons.

I need to make some loads for the wagons (plastic straws, microstrip & paint).

I have to say Stubbers that this will have to be marked down as a poor effort.

I have passed your details on.

I think you'll find it proves an immense strength of character  and resolve and should be praised  not condemned.

Bolleaux, should have bought a Terrier!

Changed my mind  (temporarily), I think this narrow gauge line now needs a Manning Wardle 2-6-2T in Southern Railway livery.
