Yes mine was on the former RAF Llandow.  I'd been driving tractors on the farm for a few years, but I hit 17 and my dad let me loose in his Ford Escort on the airfield.  We both survived the experience.

c2000 the roads around Yelverton aerodrome were used by quite a few of us as a place for a few driving lessons prior to reaching 17...   (while the remains of those bunkers were perfect for a few drinks).

My eldest daughter leaned to ride her bike there one Christmas as well.

Sad that the stations, particularly Bickliegh and Horrabrige are no more and it has to be said Gem Bridge is a shadow of the former Walkham viaduct.

This is the entrance to station road at Yelverton today.

Has Bickleigh station building been knocked down? It was still there the last time I drove a bus along there about 8 years ago.

I think the building that is still there is the station master's house. There is a high wooden fence round the site which you can't see through. I was on a bike on the cycle path and couldn't see over the fence.

Thanks for the picture Alex; this is close to the spot referred to in my previous post; never thought I'd get to see this entrance once more!  Looks about the same after all these years!

That's definitely one of the curses of railway modelling. Somewhere in the vicinity of my bench is a little etched brass door plate that says "private", it pinged around like a stray bullet whilst being trimmed.

At least you finally got your sign in place and the whole scene is looking complete. The plants look really good too.

Nice shot Alex and good to see the old  Fergy again.

If I remember correctly it was a lovely kit to build. I do have the Oxford version but the Springside kit has a nice presence about it. I'm quiet tempted to order one myself.

Great modelling all round Alex on Yelverton by the way. Looking forwards to seeing it in the flesh so to speak.

A West Riding contingent will be attending a (Pasty) Members Day in Taunton shortly and is looking forwards to catching up if you're in attendance.

Cheers,

Mark

Not off to a show yet. It was just a test fit. It was a bit tight to get it all in last time, so I redesigned the legs and was making sure it all fitted, so there will be no nasty surprises when I'm going out. Next show booked reorganised Edington in July.
