Nowt to do with with realistic looking moddel railways: First saw him fly at RNAS Culdrose airshow then 18 years later, felt pretty special to witness him shoot the rapids at Winston.

A well know story here in the county and Winston Just over 10 minutes drive from the house!

The latest addition to the district's loco allocation, 3MT 2-6-2T No. 82018, stands at Cill after arriving with a short additional goods working.

A little advice from me is to crop the bottom off to remove (or reduce) what looks like the baseboard edge. I always crop my photos as well as other tweaks I'm experimenting with. Here's my last pic in its raw state.

It's actually an inset siding in the paved yard area, but with the sun shining directly onto it it's overexposed and bleached out the detail.  One of the problems with having a layout on a window cill!

Ah I can see it now. However it's out of focus which doesn't happen with the equivalent full size picture. In an ideal world it's best to use a camera where you can control the aperture. I use the smallest aperture I can on my compact camera and a tripod, though you can go further with a proper digital SLR jobbie. The lighting on your pic is spot on, though and cropping the front will increase the realism to these eyes!

Ace! (Rubs thighs!) I now realise I need more people and clutter. How did you do the point levers?

I'm starting to get 'realism grumpy' again!

If an image can be interpreted as a good likeness of realism then fine; if not please keep the images to your own topics!

There's been some great stuff of late and some, honestly, which isn't so can we keep to the intent of the topic please?

Totally agree with you Andy, Can we have a thumbs down icon please

I think a thumbs down icon is not the way to go. A few words of what you think would be far better, I think.

You don't have to put up with the antics of some of the overly sensitive sorts. I do draw the line when the topic intent gets devalued with stuff that's not at all realistic.

Diesels are not my thing but I do like the subtle and varied finishes you have achieved on the ballasting. Much better than the usual vast expanse of stone straight out of the packet.

I love the overall scene, especially the contemporary headcodes and liveries in shot 3 but the nerd in me spots the out of era B&Q logo and a MK4? transit. Short steps to excellence. ;)

Aah “The red wall”. I’m now inspired to create a low relief Focus DIY Centre when I extend my layout, a bit like one one that used to be alongside Warrington Arpley.
