This was actually taken at Blackburn exhibition in 2019, when fortunate positioning of the layout allowed some natural light to come through the high windows near the end of the show. Taking in the scene, we notice the buzz of insects, with a couple of songbirds chattering away in the distance, maybe a thrush or two ? And such a mixture of smells that rises to meet us.......the unmistakable aroma of a steam engine quietly simmering away, scent from the wild flowers blowing in the light breeze and perhaps thats a waft of creosote from the warm sleepers.....? Derby must be running in 1004 after overhaul sending it north with a local stopper.
