Cracking that. 9458 defo looks like a blue tinge to the roof 😂

The whole photo has a blue tinge. I wouldn't rely on that for colour.

Since you were told they were in the process of being sent, why would you now not get them?

We started posting them out last week  :)

Hi @McC,

Are they still in the process of being sent out?

Hope so... still waiting here.

Thanks,

Ixion.

@McC Are the magnetic couplings going to be made available as a spare for mk2 stock? It'd be handy to have a few extras. I know the Dellners are.

I gave magnetic couplings (Hunt, not Accurascale) a good test on our club layout yesterday, KOYLI with load 14 of WCRC coaches - a mix of AS and Bachmann Mk2s and Hornby and Bachmann Mk1s. It worked and looked and sounded magnificent, but I think it was approaching the limit for magnetic couplings!

Sincerest apologies if this has been covered already, amateur here. I bought 4 of these mk2’s in WCRC livery with the idea of renumbering two of them. I’ve had a good search around and so far have only found 5453 to be a suitable renumber. Does anybody know of any other suitable numbers?

Many Thanks!

I have also done some searching on this. I believe there were only ever 3 mk2b’s in West Coast Livery.

Thanks! I did look on there but I couldn’t tell which ones didn’t have the centre doors.

They are all to the same diagram AC207 and all have 62 seats. I can't tell beyond that.

A mix of Flickr and Google finds photos of all but 5463, all looking to have no centre doors.

Am I missing something, but why would any of those five Mk2b have centre doors?

No idea, but that seemed the question above, so perhaps some were modified?

No you're not missing anything :) they are all Diagram 105 Mk2b TSO's - no 2b TSO's were ever built (or later converted) with centre doors.  Only the Mk2 & 2a TSO's had the centre doors / transverse corridors.  Note 5463 & 5491 were both scrapped last year if that's of any relevance.

The Mk2 fleet can be a minefield… it can be hard to get your head around at first!

We all are,no matter how old we get,the internet is a wonderfull tool if you question and research what you look for or find. Experts until recent times are few and far between, just some know a lot more than others, enjoy what you do,thats the main thing.
