Does anyone know many of these MK1.5 type vehicles were built? First time I've seen them apart from the one a few pages back , you learn something new...

Sorry the question was unclear, what was the total number of vehicles using mk1 under frame and "mk2e style" windows . There's two in this thread , is that it?

E1883 is unique, a one off special Bar Car. It still exists and at one time was operating on the Severn Valley Railway

The windows are not Mk2e style. I’m not sure if they are even double glazed and the vehicle isn’t air conditioned. There were three of these lounge cars built for operation on the LMR. M14901-14903

Presumably it would be in olive drab livery. like some (but not all) Enparts vehicles...?

This seems to think it wasn't rebuilt - http://www.cs.rhrp.org.uk/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=2543

But it doesn't look quite right if so...

Interesting one Bucoops, it's almost like it's half rebuilt/modified like the others- from left to right- big window halved and built up at the bottom like a rebuild. The plain  window behind the bar panelled over like rebuild, big window in situ as per original then smaller plain window panelled over like rebuild then windows for saloon as per normal.

If it was departmental mods post withdrawal then why would the modifications be nearly the same as the rebuilds? Weird one

Cheers

A very subtle one here:

50008* n

The second sleeper from the left (3rd coach from the left) isn't a Mk1. It's either W619M or W624M, LMS design dia 2169 built 1952, in their last summer of service. Below is a photo of 624 before it moved to the Western  Region:

c.1970 - Wolverton Works, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
