eastwestdivide
Top-notch stuff. Would it be too cruel to ask for a real-life photo of the viaduct, next to one of the model?

RMweb Gold Ramblin Rich Posted September 30, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 30, 2011 I can't add any more (& didn't contribute anything along the way) - but just have to say this is simply fantastic & really uses the available space to brilliant effect. Well done - I hope you've got your feet up & a drink in hand now!
richbrummitt
and the prize for most elaborate decoration of a stock box goes to... Love. It. Hopefully you are sufficiently inspired to move the layout forward, perhaps after a well deserved break.
Steadfast
Hi Pete, Yes that 66 on cement is rather nice, isn't it, but the 37s on clay....wow! Lovely bit of modelling all in, really nice job. Love the stock tray idea too. I notice you plucked up the courage to chop a mk3... jo
RMweb Gold bcnPete Posted October 1, 2011 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 1, 2011 Many thanks to everyone for your kind comments. Would it be too cruel to ask for a real-life photo of the viaduct, next to one of the model? No, not to cruel...fair comment in fact. The main problem is copyright as most of the photos that have been using for reference are from the Internet so I cannot reproduce on here. I have thrown this image together though which is a photo of mine taken in August this year...it hopefully gives a flavour of the prototype showing a bay and an old Brunel pier... RMweb Gold Revolution Ben Posted October 1, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 1, 2011 Hi Pete, Lovely work - enjoyable and inspirational for those of us following this thread and, hopefully, satisfying and worthwhile for you too! Good luck in the contest! cheers Ben A.
Will Vale
That's (as I think we all expected it to be) just lovely. Those close-up shots of the lower line are magic. Best bedside light ever. What will the IKEA product name for this one be? Will

P.C.M
Hi Pete, It's looking superb, I do like the shot with the class 37 going underneath. Actually thought about your project the other day, I was looking through an old railway mag and there was a great pic of a class 37 comming through a narrow road bridge with your viaduct in the background. Cheers Peter.
devondynosoar118
Can't praise the quality enough! Lovely work throughout, neat design too. I know it's a bit of frothing to repeat all the above sentiment but hey I can so I will. Will it be making a personal appearance in the UK?
RMweb Gold bcnPete Posted October 1, 2011 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 1, 2011 Thank you all again for all the kind comments. I guess IKEA only like stuff that goes together in an afternoon...and not 3 months! The problem with getting it to the UK is this one won't squeeze in my hand luggage like the boxfiles did
Rods_of_Revolution
Wow! The diorama is looking fantasic, with the HST and Tractor on the layout it really gives you a sense of scale! The stone work is nicely weathered as well! Kindest Regards, Jack
RMweb Gold bcnPete Posted October 1, 2011 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 1, 2011 Many thanks Jack. In terms of the competition, I am not sure if we can upload any new photos when we do the summary thread so a couple more from today using a different camera. 66 on cement...this time with fuel tanks in place!... 37142 on CDA's... I really need to learn how to use a camera properly... Pete

Looking at the 2010 Summary I would assume that you can put pictures as well as text in the summary. Cheers, Jack

MRDBLUE17
Hi Pete, Nice to add in the real photo - just goes to show the detail you have got into such a small space to great effect to create the realism in your scene - looks great. Mark
RMweb Gold bcnPete Posted October 2, 2011 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 2, 2011 Thanks again guys for the kind comments. Chris - I used both a Canon Powershot A590IS (as recommended by Chris Nevard a couple of years back) and most recently a Nikon D3100 entry level Digital SLR.
