Yes, having spent a few days parked in a bay platform at Norwich, 68004 ran light from Norwich to Willesden (Brent Sidings) yesterday, then on to Wolverton to collect a single carriage which it then hauled back to Norwich today.  It is scheduled to work a trip to Colchester and back tomorrow.

I quite appeciated the station announcer at Stratford yesterday, emphasising that a "special" train was approaching platform 10!

0Z68, 11:05, Norwich - Colchester - Norwich - if it runs, these may be recurring paths which aren't always used, 0Z68 was also in the system for yesterday but obviously didn't run.

It is interesting that the loco seems to be significantly narrower than the Mk 3 coach. When manufacturers complain about the restrictive UK loading gauge you might think they would exploit what is available to the full. I suppose they probably want the loco to go places that a Mk 3 can't. What proportion of the network would that be?

You're right they remind me of the old Hastings loading gauge stock!

Hi,

It maybe the angle of the photo, as I think they have been built to the limits of the Loading Gauge, after all, Vossloh complained about packing all the equipment in the body shell!

Whilste looking at the progress of the GBRF staff special and a pair of 31s on the structure train I noticed a VSTP operated by DRS appeared, a diesel engine - could it be another 68 coming down ? I hoped, hopefully not 68004 again but ...
