EBay madness

It is a steam tram, looks like a Y6 to me. I'm sure that someone more knowledgeable will come along soon

The seller should of told a bigger fib and said it is an O gauge model of Toby before he left for the Island of Sodor and given a clean-up... :nono:

Isn't a break van where the crew go when they need a rest?

Geoff Endacott

Brake vans were commonly called Break vans up to about WW1.

Here's such an example.

'Break' is an archaic spelling cf 'shewn' much beloved of the GWR.

And now for something completely different....

Perhaps I'd better hang on to mine and refrain from weathering them!?

You could bid £10.50 + 3.35 on this old version with the horrible floppy axleguard assemblies :(

or go for this much improved new one BIN for a fraction more

Gostude is in on the act too, but we can ignore that :)

NB. I'm not criticising the vendor (whom I can recommend, having bought from him in the past) in any way, as it started at 99p.

Another paint-it-yellow item.  At least it's been painted and decaled by a pro modeller...... :scratchhead:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tri-ang-Hornby-OO-Gauge-Breakdown-coach-/261227702858?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3cd2626a4a

That's probably the best "paint it yellow" I've seen so far - thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Mick

Doubled in price in the closing seconds. Was quite amusing to watch!

Was tempted to buy it to then shove it in the recycling bin where crap like this really ought to be consigned...

A lot of money for a model which, whilst it looks nice, has several glaring errors if it is an N8...

Mark

And sitting on a Triang/Hornby chassis?

Not railway related, but on topic I feel:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-G70-LAPTOP-FOR-SPARES-AND-REPAIRS-ONLY-/330928999371?pt=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item4d0ce7cbcb

Basically you're getting a motherboard and a few cabinet parts.... (ie no hard drive, no RAM, no keyboard, no screen, no OS...)

I would have thought £5 tops, but maybe i'm missing something?

I would appear that eBay madness is not restricted to model railway items.

The number would be an N10 from the first two sources I looked at, and it reputedly lost its Westinghouse brake gear 5 years before getting its BR number.

Yes indeed. That's another error. As I said, a nice enough model, but the price?
