Eclectic mix...http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Electric-Trainset-/290945284184?pt=AU_Toys_Hobbies_Model_Railways&hash=item43bdb0b858#ht_1064wt_1170

Eccentric starting price...!   Atleast it includes some track, pity it's 3 level crossings and I do like the 'Tomy', Thomas the Tank Engine station !

Cheers, Gary.

And an ebay score of well....not very much

Is it a "brown fright wagon" because it saw the price?

From what I remember, the CCW 4mm range was originally much the same as their 7mm, but later they decided to specialise in 7mm. Wooden coach kits were available from CCW, Ratio and Kings Cross (& others?). I'll see if I can track anything down in my stash of ancient magazines and report back if I find anything.

My 2000th post! (for the second time round).

It's probably a typo.

If you click on the 72 sold, you can see that the last one was sold for £14.70. Although that was back in February.

Yes, a bit of a Heinz! In a nice BR green, with Exeter plates (should be 34001) on Barnstaple body, with a Southern railway-ish tender, in the wrong green to be such. Something for everyone, really!

Ebay do not care much for their own presentation. Below our "friend's" offer of Pullman cars above, ebay has gaily added this

People who bought this item also bought

Obviously that is intended for ebay shops who sell many identical items, but makes no sense at all for one-off sales offers.

Well, once they are discontinued and all the usual culprits have sold off the residue at knock down prices to make space for new stock, they are indeed rare, because there are no new ones for sale!

Whether anybody then wants to pay exhorbitant prices to get one is another matter.

Or do a quick search:

Couldn't find the servicing shed though!

I didn't find much - a few kits available in both scales including a BR 12T van (at 4/6d in 4mm), but I will start a new thread in the collectable/vintage section on wooden kits, if anyone is interested.

Perhaps this deserves a thread of its own. It's not eBay, but it's certainly madness...

Is "Argos" another name for "rare/kitbuilt from the stu dude"? :jester:

Cheers,
