RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted November 11, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2013 Um... unlike any British tender underframe I've ever seen, maybe it's a post steam age steam locomotive tender! Perhaps that's what they are going to do with FS, 3 EE traction motors under the tender so you don't need the loco to be steam-able.
RMweb Premium Gary H Posted November 11, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 11, 2013 This has to be a worthy contender for "Ebay Madness". Looks like its been used as a football. My beef is with the idea that this model might be fitted with a sound chip but is untested. How difficult is it to lift the body and check for a speaker? At the same time this seller suggests that he can't run it because it has a decoder fitted. How does he know this and how come he can't run it on straight DC? A real scam that one. Quite obviously someone who has no idea at all of current prices for old tat. The wheels, in the supersized picture, look as though they have been run on a brass brush and appear to be scratched. Reviewing the feedback he doesn't sell many very expensive items. Just 3 negative feedback in the last 12 months. He obviously fills a niche in the market. It must pay to keep re-listing items in the hope that you eventually get a bite. It's an eye opener to view all the items and put them in highest price first order. Il Grifone
I have a sort of nostalgic desire to acquire the Hornby 0 gauge that i had as a boy (It succumbed to being laid out in the garden! ). One item was this cattle wagon, but this price is a tat OTT (I assume bunny is not included) - about ten times the original price allowing for inflation. I know it's collectable, but it's not all that rare - I got the 1920's version for a few pounds not long ago (no box but who cares?).
