EBay madness

Talk of the devil (see post #15877) and........

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unknown-Deisel-Loco-oo-Gauge/151735837635?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D30775%26meid%3D847abd56eaa247f49b3362eae2453f60%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D351446498217&rt=nc

I didn't pay anything like £20 for mine.......

(The "kaydee type coupling" is of course an X2f.)

I not sure whether it's supposed to be an F7 or an F9 (not that there is much difference) I also have a Marx F3A, which has a strong family resemblance (i.e. she probably came from the same factory in Hong Kong). (This originally had belt drive powered by a cr@ppy can motor and two short (very) stainless steel coaches (passenger and observation car.)

Investigation has shown that the difference is an extra grille in front of the leading 'porthole- on an F9A, which makes this an F7. Just as well as I wanted to repaint mine in SP livery and Espee didn't have any F9s. (The alternative was ATSF, but I already have several.......).

This sort of thing.....

(He's got an even dearer one with different artwork, which apparently affects the value - I'd build the kit and bin the box......)

So that it shows up in the search results when someone searches for "Bachmann 37".

Even more irritating is the description "not Bachman, Hornby, and all the rest of them.......etc."

Pathetic.

When one offers items for public auction the seller is duty bound in my view, to provide an accurate and full description of the goods that are being offered. Not spurious descriptions

If it ain't honestly described then it's most likely crap..

The 37 looks pretty good value. I can't understand why it's got such an error when they got the black window surround right. Well, there's one or two other small errors with that loco but for the sake of a transfer. Plus the one on the other side is right. Are VItrains 37's not worth much?

The replacement Mk I bogies are nearly as long as the coach! These horr things are strictly 'collector's only' - especially warped acetate ones like this.

Or how about this
