RMweb Gold RFS Posted February 21, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) "Excellent unboxed condition". Really? RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted February 21, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2013 Another one that's not so much madness but very hopeful? 'Rarely does a rake of these come on the market'.... Can't imagine why myself. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lima-BR-Bogie-Bolster-Rail-Wagons-x11-code-305630W-7-mint-inbox-look-/261163329317?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3cce8c2725 Been around before, doesn't seem to want to accept a sensible offer though. Collectors pay good money for empty boxes don't they? You'd have thought this guy might have caught the hint after he'd listed it at least 4 times.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EMPTY-BOX-for-LIMA-OO-30-5630-W-30TON-BOGIE-BOLSTER-WITH-STEEL-GIRDERS-/221188254576?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item337fd8eb70 As I've thrown about 20 away, maybe he's been watching my bin and thinks he's on to a good thing? Horsetan
Seems to be missing the smokebox door, can't see the state of the firebox door. Well, if it's in "mint" condition, there's clearly a hole through the centre.....

RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted February 21, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2013 Not to mention rusty wooden bodied coaches. Pete Thanks I hadn't noticed those . Don't these people THINK when they slap this 'weathering' on? I see all 3 have bids on (from 2 different bidders) though I guess at £5.99 + p/p they're just about cheap enough for strip/repaint and/or butchering. She looked all bright and shiny when I saw her in the Science Museum (they must have worked hard!) I have a feeling that C of T would have flattened the WELTROL if loaded like that. Even the dumped Ford van is all wrong. Rotted through wings, door bottoms, sills, but the door pillar isunlikely (True, I have seen a Fiat rotting there, but then they rot everywhere.. It should be resting on the wheel hub too, not floating in the air.

Dorsetmike
I'm getting a bit fed up with Del Prado stuff appearing in N gauge locos they should be in a separate collectors category,. I realise that UK Ebay lists model railways under collectables but surely there should be some way of separating the statics, I do a search to exclude the words Del Prado and static, but there is still over a page full "From Poland". Another thing that should be excluded from the Locomotives listing is 4 or 5 pages of Modelmaster decals also appearing in N gauge locos (4 or 5 pages out of 18 after excluding Del Prado) Problem is their listing starts with a ref number prefixed NG, so if you try and exclude that from a search you lose most listings with "N gauge"
surfsup
Errr ok. RY GOOD CONDITION, WITH NO MARKS OR BLEMISHES, BUT SOMEONE HAS PAINTED THE UNDERFRAME GEAR AND CORRIDOR CONNECTIONS SILVER (SEE PHOTO) - WELL DONE THOUGH http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-R4225-Mk2D-Open-Standard-Coach-in-First-Great-Western-Livery-6-/160975540160?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item257ae3cfc0 Why have you painted the corridor and underframe in Silver then? Surely that would count as a mark or blumish!

RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted February 24, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 24, 2013 If it works its worth a few quid for the chassis. Well, maybe. I think it's a Life-Like RS11, probably made in Yugoslavia, in which case the chassis is plastic and includes the walkways and handrails. These are pretty much more trouble than they're worth to put under a decent body, I think.
