EBay madness

That just might account for it not booting up . :scratchhead:

I had thought of that. No OS does make it difficult! I doubt it comes with a drive since the excuse is 'security reasons' (why this should need the removal of the RAM escapes me) It was probably removed before the auction.

A nice job has been done of it but really? £205 quid??!!??

http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649

If you liked it he's got another one on auction now:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310369407039?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570.l2736%26_nkw%3D310369407039%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

I wonder if that will reach such a high price.

Good god! Somebodies hopefull! :O :o :O

Item number: 370487681232 - and so rare that there are two more on there! One is about half that and the other is a hell of a lot less

But the one you mention is different from the other two - it has the TR logo and is therefore rare. The lowest priced one also has damage to the cabside transfers. Admittedly, some of his BIN prices do look a little on the high side.

There is some rare Triang Transcontinental stuff out there. I once sold some Transcontinental TT items and was staggered by the price I got. (About 10x that I was expecting..........)

Cheers,

Mick

Gostude again!

Rare transfer on an uncommon model (possibly a last ditch try by Tri-ang to unload a loco that didn't sell?)

Ill chosen products (not just trains) are always likely collector's items (Dublo Co-Bos for example). This is not to say that any old junk will be collectable, of course.

And I quote:

"New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item."

I know it's our old friend again, but it makes me despair.

And as for this garbage:

On second thoughts that's one for the Golden Pup Awards, isn't it...

£160 for some etched plates plonked on to a standard 8F? I'll stick with my home made job for half that! Ok, it might not be perfect, but it's the little things like the Turkish ones being right-hand drive and air braked...

EDIT: Oh, and not having Midland region shed plates!

Granted that I havent got a clue what is going on with the grounded bodyshell I would just like to point out that the Vendor is my local railway outlet and is generally superb and has ordered stuff in for me on several occasions etc etc, but yes I wouldnt give you tupence for that product

You do get a rather splendid box though . . .

I thought Hornby wouldn't undertake to do limited edition commissions these days and that their minimum when they did do them was 1000. Am I imagining that?

Kitmaster. Kitmaster?

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item43ac58beb1

Having lived through the era of those models - and owned several - these are not familiar!

While not having a great deal of kitmaster knowledge I thought the only motorised 'chassis' they did was in the powered van, so unless im wrong the chassis he has listed as kitmaster are Triang, which is what thye look like to my eyes

Give me the remaining £80 (approx figure = their price, minus: price I paid for a second hand 8F, price I'm paying for a set of plates, a couple of hours' work) and I'll get you the finest box you could imagine! :D

Sadly more and more stuff on the auction site is being posted from mobile phones, which is supposed to make it easier for any idiot to sell. Unfortunately more and more idiots who don't seem able to check for common sense are now selling.......

Ermm... Has anyone got a universal translator handy and can make sense of this gibberish?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Emu-Class-455-00-kit-/320825119231?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item4ab2aad1ff

Looks like he's had a go at some sort of conversion. The half-witted description is the best yet!

Given that the last phrase in his blurb is, "Any questions, please ask", and to quote present mobile phone parlance, I feel I should ask him, "W. T. F. are you on about?....."

Cheers.

Sean.
