That's an interesting listing by dirty boys weathering.

The user name "Dirty Boy!"has been used by Lord and Butler for many years (since 2014 ?) as the brand name for Adrian's weathering carried out from the shop.

Suffice to say, there is a considerable difference in quality.

Not to be confused.........

Rob.

If they had gone to that much bother why on earth didnt they use proper reference photos to see what locos look like in a scrap yard, that just looks like camouflage finish... depends how long an engine has been out of traffic depends on how they weather.. dirt starts to take on a greenish hue before it gets bleached away by rain then surface rust starts... and so it goes on.

Just out of interest where did all the A3's and A4's get cut up anyway

Had another A3 been preserved would 4472 have been so iconic

Hi John. Apologies but if you are thinking that's anything to do with L&B, think again.

Note the difference in user name and Adrians brand.

As I say, not to be confused.

They are aware of this individuals activities on ebay.

Correction ...

I was thinking about the A3 in particular....

Do you have any pics of the L&B work.... thought you meant Lynton and Barnstaple until I reread the message...

The first one to appear on ebay.

£79.95 more than he paid for it a few weeks ago. The sale "excuse" that he is Selling from my personal collection due to a change in direction and now focusing on my live steam. doesn't seem to hold up when you look at the other items he has for sale, which also includes the new Hornby 10,000 at the same price.

There should be some on Lord & Butler's website.  Adrian Butler's weathering is professional, very high quality, better than most RTR weathering, and not unreasonably priced; no connection satisfied customer.  I don't know if Adrian is a participant on this forum; I know Peter Lord isn't.

Not so much madness and "WTF?"

A model of an Italian Railways Horses Head wagon.  Presumably from the days FS had the contract from the Mafia for overnight delivery of bedroom warnings.

When it absolutely has to be there overnight, or lose your kneecaps...

That's an expensive bit of silliness. (I'd have thought maybe a tenner?)

Is there a well wagon for the rest of the horse?

Let's hope it doesn't sell and set a precedent...

Assuming the horse has indeed lost its head, I'm guessing the rest of it will not be very well?? :pleasantry:

I imagine that it's having a particularly bad day.

It's probably kebabs by now.

The rest is probably in this one:

Or do they really use gorillas in that stuff?

Probably owned by Shergar Inc.

More likely to be in tins of cat food.

I don't remember horse being mentioned in the Meow Mix jingle.

" I like beef and I like liver, I like chicken in my dinner......."

It's probably being served up in some bohee restaurant in Camden...

Actually it is a serious model. It was part of a Roman Bronze statue that was discovered in a private collection. The head and other parts of the statue were bought together and the statue rebuilt.

That's interesting, I did get the impression that it was something like that, but didn't realize it was of an actual event.

It was more the £350 price tag that was amusing.

Once they've got the pieces of the horse together, perhaps they can have a look for the buffer beam details which you'd expect to be present at a tenth of the price?

Beat me to it

The finish shows clearly it’s a model of a bronze or other type of statue.

I could see that and agree that it makes an interesting change from the usual tank / electrical transformer / ship's propellor, but £350?

Hell no lol! It qualifies for the thread on that basis alone.

There's been some consideration of whether there's a set of wagons for the rest of the horse.

These animals being well endowed, I'm presuming that there's a tool van in the train formation? :D
