I'm surprised the seller isn't advertising this as unique.

According to Google D5900 makes it a baby Deltic

but its only got one cab???

As far as I know Lone Star made quite a few like this. Fairly obviously a re-livery of the Union Pacific diesels to try to sell to those modelling British prototypes. It’s electric rather than push-along because it has mini tension locks instead of just hooks for couplings. I have a couple of these in the more authentic American livery, plus centre coach but unfortunately no powered loco.

Thats interesting, I assumed this was one someone had modified.

I thought someone had smeared vaseline all over my monitor. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Model-Irish-Railways-CIE-GM-071Locomotive-not-Murphy-Models/113898649299

In case your monitor has vaseline on it, it's absolutely, definetly, is NOT a Murphy Model

And here I thought that my paint jobs were bad!:o

Very nice but a little high on the price based on the fact there is a RTR model.

It is a shame whenever a loco that was always a kit loco suddenly becomes an RTR model it kills the market for well built kits.

This looks as though it is a well built kit

And I thought I had a load of old worthless crap!

Having bought some Continental buildings over the last year or so they are very expensive, however before parting with two and a half grand I for one would like to know exactly what is on offer.

The fact is given there are 24+ boxes plus lots of unboxed stuff I would assume there must be at second rates that much in worth lying on the floor, plus you would have to go to Lancashire to get it. As a job lot to be collected I guess the trade value is a fraction of its worth, especially as what you are buying is mainly unknown

I just opened page 1 of this thread and couldn't help wondering whether when marcyg started it nearly 10 years ago, he had any idea it would reach 22800 posts.

£650 for two badly built and badly painted kits. You can get RTR versions of these for much less. At least you get a torn up photo with it!

An aptly named seller though?

The bogies look like chopped down class 45 power bogies as they have the lead axle on a pivot arm. So probably on old knackered mainline diesel chassis.

Paint job done with a cement mixer in a darkened room too, hmmmmm BARGAIN!!!!

Its a project for someone who likes a challenge to turn a sows ear into a silk purse but not at £649.99

I would offer £6.49 for both the locos in that state and that includes the postage!!

Mark

Why don't we all submit an offer of how much they're really worth, until the seller gets the message ( which may take a while if it's the same mentality as the person still trying to sell this freelance American "boxcar" which is a Bachmann G scale coach with a few resin bits stuck on https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F322727811666 ).

I always find that when is selling a quality item at a very high price there's nothing like a good set of photographs to show off the model to it's best, and that is nothing like a good set of photographs!

Actually that maybe a Bachmann On30 combine that has been "converted" to trolley similar to the Boston, Revere Beach & Lynn. Note that part of the old right-of-way is still in use  as part of the MBTA's rapid transit line to Logan Airport. The Revere Beach line was originally steam-powered narrow gauge and was later electrified.
