Phew!  AT least it isn't L@@K or RARE!! :mocking_mini:

That made me do a search (done at 1105A 26jan20) for some common "descriptors" in listing titles:

vintage - 29,338,247
antique - 11,399,133
rare - 6,275,070
rare, vintage, antique - 174,492
L@@K - 148,972

And a few even use all four :o :
L@@K, rare, vintage, antique - 135

Edit: From 009 micro modeler's suggestion:

original - 42,219,925

All five words actually got used:

l@@k, rare, vintage, antique, original - 22

I do not know if those figures are on ebay world-wide or just ebay USA.

Add a couple of more "descriptors"

‘Original’ may be another good one to try...

I realise that, it just strikes me as odd that when people went to buy more coaches they would (in theory) have a 1/3 chance of buying Mk3s, whereas the actual number who did seems to be far fewer, based upon what I recall seeing.

Maybe because the original Hornby ones were shorties. So enthusiasts wanting a longer train,  would have purchased the Lima Mk3's.

It looks to me suspiciously like one of those un-motorised "Instant (dust) collectors items".

I'm sure Rocket Railways will sell it. 'Hand Crafted model 00 Gauge. Not working'

Uséd or New Uséd

Body Condition (1-5, 5 being the best):4

Running Condition (1-5, 5 being the best):2

Original Box: n/a

Any other details about the condition Good condition

Other Details about this item GWR Express engine

Gauge OO / HO

There...I've done it for them :P

I’d love to know who he thinks will buy the Hitler figure. The Trump one I can sort of see the point of (for humorous/satirical use) but I’m struggling to think of a scenario where the Hitler figure could actually be used on a layout...

I need some Traffic Wardens, should do nicely :D

Also look up "excellent" and "superb". I guarantee a giggle or two.

What’s the problem? Superb is a lovely loco: https://www.sklr.net/history-stock/locomotives/

(And no, they don’t have a loco called Excellent but they do have a Unique,* which incidentally is another good eBay word to try.)

*A narrow gauge fireless loco so actually quite appropriately named.

I know Thomas stuff fetches good prices,

but surely this is wishful thinking:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tomix-N-Gauge-Henry-Coaches-X2/254667296381?hash=item3b4b5a8e7d:g:APMAAOSwtEpfHxTj

Is "wishful thinking" in this case a diplomatic method of saying: "downright avaricious" or "totally nuts" ?

Just wondering!

For some reason, I seem to remember that some of the Tomix Thomas stuff often fetches quite high prices. The Percy loco was used by several people a few years ago as an 009 chassis. Was much of this stuff ever sold directly in the UK?

No it wasn't as Ertl had the Thomas Franchise in the UK.

For diecast toys. Hornby also had it (00), and Bachmann were I think already allowed to sell G but not 00 scale Thomas stuff. I don’t know how the Tomy (not Tomix) kids’ battery trains with blue plastic track fit into this either. So presumably they could have also licensed a separate manufacturer for N gauge.

Most of these eBay sellers would be better off using LNWR locomotive names to describe their listings - Problem, Experiment etc. :jester:

You would probably need 'Patience' and not be 'Vindictive' :D
