I didn't know whether to use Funny or Thanks, but eventually settled for the former.

My "Welsh"* used to be much better when we couldn't get Winter Hill and had to put up with BBC Wales and HTV from Moel Y Parc across the river...

That was in 405 line days, naturally.

* In the "Pardon my French" sense, when stuff like Rygbi and Pobol Y Cwm were put on in place of programmes I wanted to see, and don't mention the Eisteddfod season.....

Sgorio!

But it was more 1980s for me as my bedroom TV could only get the Welsh channels. It was fine in the living room.

Tallies with how technical German was once explained to me:

"write a sentence describing what the device does, then get rid of all the spaces"

Isn't that one that talks to those police dogs when he should be keeping schtum?

What you don't want is to be befriended by one of those police dogs that hang around airports and major railway termini...

Very happy to be so befriended, I have always found these dogs and handlers to be delightful company, as their training is based on fun "find and fetch" games.  Friendly, playful, well disciplined, what's not to like?

Effective, too.  Delightful to watch in action, identifying carriers of substances many of which are known to destroy the lives of the takers and the victims of the behaviour of those partaking in the illegal consumption.  It works well with explosives, too.    :)

Always reminds me of the Manchester United Fake Bomb!

The boss of the firm that left a fake bomb at Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium has apologised for making a "devastating mistake".

Chris Reid of Security Search Management & Solutions Ltd (SSMS) said he wrongly logged the item as found on Wednesday.

The bomb scare led to the postponement of Sunday's match against Bournemouth.

The club said the device could not have been detected by sniffer dogs because it did not contain explosives.

Old Trafford was evacuated and the match called off after the device was found in one of the toilet blocks.
