davefrk
Yes you're right Andy, but Ben Alder got there first, I've cast some today but I'll need to do more on Monday. They should be on the website over the weekend. Please excuse the photos, will post better later. And the drooping bufferbeam, too warm for the Bluetack. Ben Alder
Thanks for that one Dave- order will be on its way as soon as. Don't stop though, plenty more clamouring for their needs- and that's before we start thinking about water columns! Railway modellers- are they ever satisfied......? davefrk
Hi all, just to say the new Highland Railway 4mm buffer stops are now on the website to purchase. The masters were made from a drawing by Peter Tatlow and photographs supplied by Chris Higgs. The kit includes a timber bufferbeam and the later replacement rail bufferbeam in two lengths, OO and EM/P4. A few of these stops are still in use today. Dave Franks Apologises for the double post. davefrk
Looking well, Dave. Slightly O/T here I know, but what did the NB's standard stops look like? Not off topic at all...... Did you mean this one. The masters are finished and shown here held together with Bluetack (the heavy bufferbeam has slid down onto the diagonals in the heat). Should be on sale next week. Ben Alder
My mixed order of LMS/HR bufferstops, including my "freebie" prize- thank you, Dave, arrived today, and very nice they are indeed. Just for interest, I thought I'd show what you get with this product. Securely boxed- I bought the 5 pack. Helpful instructions- and well packed. And beautifully crisp castings. Thanks once again. clecklewyke
I wonder if Dave has seen these 3D printed masters for Lime St Station by Les Green. He's looking to mass (well multiple...) produce them. A marriage made in heaven? I need five, please, Dave. (drip, drip, drip...) Ian

I've also read some messages today regarding same, (I really must check my emails more often). Problem is, the masters for casting need to be broken down into suitable pieces for placing in the rubber mould and being able to remove once the mould has cured, One has to think ahead in the mouldmaking/casting game. RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted August 16, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 16, 2013 As you are an afficianado of obscure buffer stops, I wondered about the pattern in use at Mossend yard in the early 80's. With a bit of luck, the photo below should show what I mean. Or would I be better butchering some Peco concrete sleepered track? Regards Ian
RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted August 29, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 29, 2013 Come on Dave, I thought that these would be in production by now. Each one different and unique, some with a vanwide or 16t mineral on top. Regards Ian

sto243
Okay people, the North British Railway buffer stops are up on the website now. Dave Franks. Great work Dave, thank you - my order will be coming in soon. On the subject of NBR stops, I'm trying to build a West Highland model and while browsing the web for prototype images, I found some pics of the stops on the siding at Corrour. The upper parts look very similar to your just released ones, but they don't look as if they extend below the ground - the track extends right under the stops and the front and rear diagonals are bent up parallel and bolted to it. Are these unique to this location, or do they represent a differnet type of NBR "surface" buffer stops? Some images at these links - they're not my pics, but I hope the original owners won't mind us viewing them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tigermuse/8469469471/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/smudgeweb/6915567482/ http://becausetheyrethere.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/corrour-23.jpg Incidentally, I apologise for going OT, but what a great pic this is: makes you appreciate what it was like working the line in winter! http://www.flickr.com/photos/llangollen_signalman/6661210315/ Many thanks, Hugh
davefrk
Hi Hugh, those stops look as though they are made up from bits as there is a similar one at SRPS Bo-ness but with detail differences, interesting. That's one I would like to do later. Working on the next buffer stop which should be released at EXPO EM North, all I'll say is - it's from the area. All the best, Dave @ LMS
