Jaz
Dart castings MLV3 gentleman with model yacht £2.60 So far I have only painted the yacht, I popped it on the river, liked the picture then Kal said, who would put a nice boat like that in a river, you need a pond rmweb663terraforming153 this pond (notice I'm trialing some grasses) rmweb686terraforming176 yep rmweb688terraforming178 rmweb689terraforming179 the 'tree trunk' has been moved here, it is closer to the edge of the layout, so the lack of branches is less of an issue, it will be more 2D than 3D, rmweb690teeraforming180 Edited January 18, 2014 by Jaz
C&WR
I love those two vignettes, Jaz. I had always intended to have a yachting pond on Wallington, although there turned out not to be space. Will remember the boat for possible action in the sea, although I'd probably have a pop at making it myself.
RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted January 18, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 18, 2014 Sasquatch You said you needed 200 trees, well I think £1 a tree seems fair, shall I send them right over? rmweb657terraforming147 Mature ones! Pinkys not included I take it?
Jaz
Terraforming The buildings are not quite the right size, even without the missing extensions, still this positioning appears to allow for various factors, the Aidesnfield car parking in front of the building needs to be big enough for 1960s sized cars, but also for modern ones. the grass next to Scripps and a cross the road, are now in place. rmweb665terraforming155 Bought forward to check the colour, it will need to be carefully embedded, enough not to float, rmweb666terraforming156 The colour dried out horrible, so a second try, tho is the base coat rmweb682terraforming172 you may have noticed the gaping hole rmweb683terraforming173 fine surface polyfilla, and a few other small ones in the area got done too rmweb684terraforming174 post filler rmweb685terraforming175 hopefully tomorrow this will be dry and still fit nicely.
Jaz
Sasquatch You may have chopped off your fingers, but I am not chopping off my toes!!! Although the amount of tools I drop it is a wonder they are all intact and scar free. Mature ones? I'm not sure you said mature trees, you mentioned 200. The trick with those branches is to stick them into a centre point and have the branches fan out at an angle. They then make quite realistic looking shrubs.Imagine a chinese fan. RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted January 18, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 18, 2014 I've had a word with the tree dept. here at Sasquatch models and it's not good news! Something about finishing all these jobs and not staring at RMweb all day. Nice scenic work Jaz, that village looks terrific!

Jaz
Hi Jaz the trees you have, some look huge and they look excellent .... have you made those yourself... Job well done Jamie Thank you Jamie All the big trees are home made. They have evolved (and hopefully improved) over time.
Jaz
You sure ? Here;s one for you...2010........... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rch0eHEX_M Wow your not wrong, nice bit of reference video two, Kal is saying I need to do some more on the station. He is correct but as I keep improving my modelling skills with this PIR here on the Heartbeat area where I can afford a mistake, I am not too concerned because I know Goathland station will benefit. Hoever I do have plans for the other platform and the ballasting soon, because then we can run some trains, and have them look ok on the tracks.
Jaz
On advice I have been out and bought the citadel shades, and am trying them on various pieces in addition to the gloss issue. The Donkeys need improving rmweb49donkeys3 I tried some of the Humbrol satin, still shiny then the matt, which also recently bought.I think this is working I need to paint them all over though. I dulled the blue as well rmweb669terraforming159 But they are starting to look more believable rmweb670terrforming160 The Presier donkeys I repainted for comparison rmweb671terraforming161 You notice the turf photographs quite nicely here. I will be only putting static grass in some areas. As I have 4mm and 6mm it will be where it would be longer, but you can see this does a nice job.
Jack00
Eee-orrr! Looking good Jaz. That turf stuff is good to use. And has a variety of shades. Good work :-) Jack
ess1uk
Maybe.... you should do it the way the real thing is done, I painted enough of them in my time. The Green is sprayed, but the black we hand painted. Regards Kal Always hand painted mine, both Bedford 4 tons and landies
Jaz
Varnish...... Jaz
Andrew P Kal was pleased with the response on Lunester Lounge. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/67999-lunester-lounge/page-139&do=findComment&comment=1308700 I think the more correct tracks that you guys discussed including SMP/C&L fine scale seem a good way forward for us.We can buy it in and address the issue at our leisure. Jaz
rmweb690arnish12later1 To say I am disappointed is an understatement, admittedly it is not dry, frankly not even that tacky.....but if does not go clear I may rip out all my hair....AAAArrrrgggghhhh!!!!!!!!
