CWJ
A few of my 37 photos which I hope are of interest to someone out there... 37608 hastily snapped from a passing railtour at Sellafield on 15th October 2011. Note the multiple working jumper connected to a Class 20 on the right. 37248 approaches the Worth Valley platforms at Keighley with a shuttle from Skipton as part of the KWVR's 40th Anniversary celebrations on 29th June 2008. The KWVR is no stranger to DRS 37s which have frequently starred in Diesel Galas, but on this occasion 37069 is on a test run along with 20311 and 47802. The Worth Valley's steep gradients were being used to test new electronic Wheel Slide Protection on the 37 and the 20. 25th April 2004. 37214 arrives at Oakworth while visiting the KWVR on 29th August 2005. On 8th June 2009 37218 and 37607 are stabled in the yard at Doncaster with a very short infrastructure monitoring train. Late night at Sheffield, where refurbishment of the station canopy was underway when a filthy 37516 was photographed on 29th November 2004. Shame I didn't get a photo in daylight, as the faded Loadhaul livery would have made a challenging weathering project! Cheers, Will
CWJ
37409 heads an inspection saloon working through Platform 1 at Sheffield on 16th June 2010... ...the second loco being 37423 'Spirit of the Lakes'. 14th January 2007 saw 37087 stabled at York. That combination of squarish buffers and split headcode boxes must be quite rare. In the same place on 7th July 2009 is 37229 'Jonty Jarvis', with 37423 making another appearance in the background. 37602 and 608 make a rare appearance on a scrap metal working on the York avoiding lines, 25th June 2011. This would have sounded good. Cheers, Will
CWJ
37706 stands at York with charter stock on 5th May 2011. At the other end of the train was 37676, seen as the train was pulling in. A poor photo, but 97301 would have been a rare sight in the North-East as it brings an infrastructure monitoring train into York on 1st February 2011. The following winter two icons of British transport can be seen side-by-side at York. 37682 and a Landrover presumably belonging to the driver or fitter are captured on 30th November 2010. 37069 appears freshly repainted as it waits in the sidings at York on 19th September 2008. The same location looks different on 24th November 2022 following the construction of York ROC (left), but surprise surprise - there's stil a 37 sitting there! 37516 with a couple of extra embellishments on the cab side. Cheers, Will
CWJ
D6700 is shunted into the NRM's yard at York along with visiting Class 47s and a Deltic on 3rd May 2011. 37025 Inverness TMD on display at the National Railway Museum on 16th October 2010. 37611 brings a train of PFA wagons around the York avoiding lines on 5th July 2012. For some reason 37606 was tagged onto the back of the above working. In the earlier DRS livery, 37510 is stabled at Doncaster on 9th February 2006. CWJ
My last few: 37516 was spotted at Euston on 25th August 2011. No idea what she was doing there! On 15th June last year 37425 was presumably involved in driver training or route learning when it called at Huddersfield's platform 5. ...and from the other side. 37408 'Loch Rannoch' brings up the rear of Arriva Trains Northern's popular loco-hauled service from Carlisle to Leeds, seen at Keighley on 18th September 2004. Matt37268
One of my favourite photos I’ve taken of a EE type 3, this is 716 at Yarmouth Vauxhall during its week on the short set during 2017. This is on September the 2nd. I have a few more of various 37/4s and 68’s working the short set, More than happy to share if anyone wants to see some more.
Matt37268
One of the disadvantages of working in a brewery next to a railway line is that every 3 weeks you get something like this come past… not sure of the date but have a feeling this was from summer of 2019?
