I don't recall seeing this 'Highland Rail' branding on a DB Cargo 66 before.

Nice catch. 66097 has it, one side only.

66111 had it on the gold band both sides, I'm not sure of the remnants remain or if its all peeled off now.

Trust me, there is a 66 in this photo. As I get older, I find myself getting away from the "three-quarter front view of loco in the sunshine" shot...

Anyway, 6.45 am yesterday finds me at Kings Langley as 66735, on the late-running 4L39 2359 Wakefield Europort - Tilbury, passes on the up fast. Don't get many freights on the fasts, but this was 75 late at Rugby, so ran direct via Weedon rather than Northampton. Approaching on the down slow are a pair of 350s on 2T05 0622 Euston - Tring.

With the direct line between Huddersfield and Leeds closed for five days from 18th February 2024 - all services being diverted via Wakefield Kirkgate - a handful of engineers' trains are scheduled to run in connection with the work.

The first, on 19th February 2024, was headed by GBRf 66703 working 6G93, Crewe Basford Hall to Mirfield East Junction, approaching Heaton Lodge.
