In the absence of a Class 57 photo thread (unless I've missed it)

Ex Network Rail 57310 is now carrying the new DRS livery, as well as the name "Pride of Cumbiria from withdrawn 47802

Another one to hunt down............

Cheers,

Mick

I so wish they'd get rid of that delner coupling rubbish on the front, looks like the things had an accident of some sort. It ruins an other wise nice looking loco.

Mick, maybe you can explain this. On this picture of 47790, http://www.wnxx.com/14/1407/290714/47790B.htm Its obviously a 47 but it has class 57 style radiator grills.

Certainly a new one on me!

Are there any others so treated?? (47's).

Hi Gary,

Yes, there a re a few 47's with the new grilles - 47810 for example - see post#302 above.

Will edit this post as I find a few more.

EDIT: 47501/818/832/841 also treated - there may be more.

Cheers,

Mick

A couple of Intercity liveried 47s.

Firstly, 47469 'Glasgow Chamber of Commerce', appropriately posing at Glasgow QS. Would make a good subject for a modelling project.

and a matching Intercity Swallow livery 47851 / HST combo at Newcastle Central in 1999.

47580 at York waiting for departure with the Scarborough Spa Express on 13/8/14

Complete with new 50th anniversary plaque below the sparrow. (47580 entered service in August 1964) The plaque was added at the recent Brush100 event at Loughborough. However, I forgot to get a close up of the plaque :senile:

I was lucky getting this one - a 158 passed heading in the opposite direction between these two shots, a few seconds earlier and I would have been potted (missed the photo, not hit, I was well clear)

Saw this livery on a new 68 at Norwich and it's quite interesting. The big central graphic would work on a vehicle with an obvious front and back, but to my eye doesnt work on a diesel because it's too "directional".

Arty farty mode off.
