RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 2, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 2, 2015 Yeah, I like the sheds being at an angle, rather than flat to the backscene. It does make cutting the roof panels to the correct angle "interesting" though. RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted September 2, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 2, 2015 Put the building on it's back, then with a piece of card held vertically, against the roof edges, draw around the building profile. Simples
RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 3, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 3, 2015 I can't remember if I covered this over on the BCB rolling stock thread, so apologies if repeating myself, but here's my preferred method for fitting AJ couplings (I'll let the photo speak for themselves, but ask away if you have any questions). (note the loops for the magnet droppers haven't been added yet at this stage)
RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 4, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 4, 2015 Presumably lack of a suitable path along the Trent Valley line has caused this little Peckett to take the long way round to get from Cannock Chase to New Haden Colliery.

RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 4, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 4, 2015 No problem with gauge then Andy Your wheels are wide enough to make up for the missing 0.63mm, as long as it keeps to the plain track; doesn't like my turnouts much, has a tendency to go over rather than through them
RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 5, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 5, 2015 Right then: lawns cut, dogs walked, I've been for a run; rest of the day is mine to torture various bits of plywood into a vaguely fiddle yard shaped lump. As we so often say in our little group "what could possibly go wrong?"...
RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 5, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 5, 2015 It makes a nice little layout once the scenic board is out the way. This is the point where I realise I've built a layout which is 8' of fiddle yard and only 4' 8 1/2" of scenic board. Top fixed in place; legs and track next.
RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 5, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 5, 2015 As we so often say in our little group "what could possibly go wrong?"... I really should know better than to ask that question. Just back from an emergency out of hours dash to our vets after our GS/Collie cross, Bea, managed to cut her ear quite badly while out in the garden. Further work on the fiddle yard postponed while I look after the patient (i.e. stop her removing the bandages) - although I had got as far as fitting the alignment dowels to the board and the fiddle yard. RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 6, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 6, 2015 'ear 'ear. Careful, she might be missing a bit of ear, but she still has her teeth. Despite another trip to the vets for a dressing change have managed to make a bit more progress on fiddle yards, legs, lighting, control panel and buildings. I like the way this little scene is coming together.

RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 9, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 9, 2015 You know it's time for a tidy up when you are cutting plasticard on a bit of ply on your lap because there's no more room on the workbench
