MrWolf
At least my guess was right, but you appear to have bought the Pannier equivalent of a Chieftain tank. Nice. I had an old whitemetal one, my first kit built ( not by me.) locomotive. An impressive beastie. 3
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted July 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 24, 2021 It is indeed an impressive model and a very good example of how to produce a modern model of a pannier. If you want to take the top off this one, to get to the motor or another part of the chassis, you just undo the screws and it all comes off. You don't need advanced qualifications in complex dismantling to achieve this, unlike a certain contemporary model pannier. Rob, do bear in mind that this one has a coreless motor, so feedback controllers are not advised! 1

RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted July 25, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 25, 2021 Morning all. 9635 is on an extended jog around the The Improvised Table Top Improving Engine System or T.I.T.T.I.E.S for short. 9487 is standing by for his turn. I also have a W4 Peckett to dismantle and another to give a run to. Could be a busy day................ 9
RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted July 25, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 25, 2021 (edited) As an aside, the three panniers were all at one time Welsh engines. 7717 was a Cardiff loco. Its not correct as I think if I recall CK correctly, it should have riveted tanks but happy for some confirmation. By virtue of the number and an acknowledgement to BGman, I'm happy to leave as is. Both 9635 and 9487 were Swansea locos and display the relevant shed codes but 9487 later moved to Newton Abbot. Not sure on 9635's movements and if it ever escaped from Swansea. (My apologies to Keef). Again happy for any clarity on this. At this rate, perhaps I shoud start seeking out copies of Irwells Pannier papers of which certain ones are a bit scarce I believe. Rob.
